How about Group Games?

Didn't want to hijack the previous thread so will ask here about games such as ladder ball for our RV club. Several are older, so softball is out.

I want to make a washer toss game. I have seen several commercial and home made sets. Does anyone have a particular set that they really like? If it is home made, do you have plans? Rules?

Ladder golf is a great pass time for our group...
as is "Blind man driving a golf cart"... for which you need a golf cart and some pylons.. (traffic cones) set up a course blindfold the driver.. and have his navigator direct him through the course... fastest time wins.... lots of laughs.. good idea to have a "FIT" game marshal run along side to switch off the cart if things go too far wrong... It is called that by me as it is mostly the men that drive the RV and women that navigate no gender offense is implied...

How about cornhole? It's big here in IN. KY. etc. It's like horseshoes, more like playing washers but less noisy. Instead you are tossing corn/bean bags. You can buy a set or make your own including the bags. Look it up online. Cornhole official rules, dimensions etc I think they even have an association or something. I prefer the good ole yard jarts or lawn darts depending on where you're from but they've been banned. I still have an old set and I can't imagine letting my kids play with those human sized darts. It was fun though in the day.

Cornhole is HUGE in Southwest OH! What a great (and safe!) alternative to horseshoes and Jarts. Us kids had Jarts growing up and never had a casualty.

Makes me sometimes think, how did we ever survive as kids... playing with caps, no helmets or knee pads on our homemade skate boards or go carts, riding double or with no hands on our bikes, sliding down huge snow hills on pieces of cardboard, etc.

All in all, I wouldn't trade those experiences for anything.

Used to hate it they got rid of yard jarts. Never met/heard of anyone who had ever been hurt by them. Up late one night at college in North Dakota talking to my roomate from Canada talking about yard jarts/lawn darts etc. A guy from Montana knocks on our door, pokes his head in and asks what we're talking about, we told him. No sooner I mentioned yard jarts he said "my uncle hit me in the head with one of those, got knocked out and sent to the hospital for stitches". We laughed so hard. I found the one guy that got those banned.

How about Kubb? Also known as Viking Chess. You get to throw baton sized wooden sticks around and try to knock over the King. I saw some campers playing it last year at Tawas Point and I've been threatening to make a set for this year. If you are not the handy type, you can buy a set but they are somewhat pricey for what they are.
