How long is too long to wait for repairs?

I dropped my 2011 Jayco 298RES off to get the slide outs fixed due to the BUBBLING TAPE issue. The local dealer has had my unit since early November, no calls from them with updates. I called last week and was told still working on it. I am a first time TT owner so I don;t know if this is normal. Any ideas as to my options? When I bought the unit from the dealer I felt pretty good that they would take care of issues now I am having doubts.

Way to long! Call Jayco Customer Service and get them to contact dealer. This passage of time is eating up your warranty period!!!

From my experience you will be better off if you go to the dealer in person and ask them the questions that you need answered. It is easier to put off a customer on the phone then in person.

Too long, especially this being the "off season" for RV use.

Way to long. Start making some noise.

If they have had that since November, someone should be able to show you what they have done.

Sounds like someone is blowing smoke. I have had mine in for warranty work that was resolved in days.

We had one warranty repair that required a next day to finish. The dealer hooked us up to power and water on the lot and finished the job as soon as they opened the next morning. Unless they are waiting on parts it should only be there a few days at the most.

In California every day that your Rv is in the shop for repairs your warranty is extended the same amount of time. Check on the back of your contract in the fine print. The Magnuson Moss Warranty Act.

Ernie: Very interesting information on warranty. It is appropriate to protect the consumer.

turn2.....
I see you're from MD, I am certain I know which dealer because I have a 2011 26bh that I bought there, I put mine in for minor odds and end service on sept 15 and got it back oct 30!, they would probably still have it if I didn't go there and rattle some cages...I recommend doing the same, and next time tell them you are using the trailer in 2 weeks, it may help getting it done quicker, Its a shame you have to lie but that's the way it goes....Good Luck

UPDATE well I stopped in on my way home, dealer in Gambrills for you who know the area. Got some BS about it was fixed and they were testing the inverter. I asked why no calls from them with updates etc...all I got was a shrug of the shoulders and some mumbling about being busy. BTW - I never had any power issues when on battery and I do boondock. I had it in for warranty work on the bubbling tape issue. They asked if I could take with me, I said NO I was not in my tow vehicle and would be leaving town for the holidays. So I'll be picking it up after the new year. Wondering if there is another Jayco in the MD/Delaware area I can use, not opposed to towing up to an hour to find a better service center. Seems they have the attitude we got your money and customer service does not matter. I will look for other alternatives. Will NOT recommend this dealer to anyone. Sad thing is there is another dealer just across the road that I have heard nothing but good things about, to bad they don't sell JAYCO.

Thanks Crabman, I'll be going to Delaware, I bought from one of the Md dealers listed and they are associated with the other Md dealer listed. Don't want to give them anymore of my business since they don't care about customer service. Does any one from Jayco read these and contact the dealers about customer complaints? If not maybe they should.

Oh no, so your saying the 2 MD dealers are related and not that good. My local dealer here in Frederick MD....Triangle RV.....looks to be related to Chesaco since their website is linked to theirs. If I decide to go Jayco, I'll look at this dealer but keep this info in mind. On the bright side there is a dealer an hr away in greencastle that also sells Jayco. Maybe I'll look there also.

It sounds like you are getting the sunshine treatment. The dealer is hoping that if he parks the TT in the lot the sunshine will solve the problem, or you will become upset enough to take it to another dealer.

Jayco's customer service authorized us to take our trailer to an independent repair shop that doesn't sell Jayco products. The service dept. where we bought our trailer (Menifee Calif.) does shotty work & they lie to you.

That tells you that you are not the only one who has had problems with that dealer. State law may not let JAYCO pull the franchise however.
