How often do you have to level your RV side to side?

It isn't all that often I have had to level the RV side to side. Fairly often I have had to drop the tongue low and block the rear stabilizer jacks up though from the pads sloping down from the road.

I am sure this has a lot to do with what the topography is like where you are camping, but here in Northern Ohio where we spend most of our time it is a rarity the pads are out over an inch side to side.

What are your experiences? I plan to get out of Northern Ohio more as my sons get a little older.

I have been kicking around the idea to get the Andersen levers but I am not so sure I actually "need" them.

Try some larger stabilizer pads {blocks under the stabilizers} to contact more surface area on the ground and have less settling. I only seem to need to setup, and adjust once after a day in the camper.

I rarely have to level side-to-side. I like the "lego" blocks and have a couple of packs of them. Works for me.

+1 My experience exactly. At most, I'm putting one "Lego" block under either side.

I also haven't found a severe front/back leveling problem yet. I had one site that had a slight grade, but it wasn't anything my jacks couldn't handle.

I've looked at the Andersons too, but I know I wouldn't use them, so I pass on them for now.

I have some 1/2" 1" and 2" boards to put under the tires to level from side to side. What I don't use I put under the stabilizers to make a larger footprint to keep them from sinking..

You have some good, level CGs in that part of Ohio. I don't recall not having to level side to side in any of the places we camped in Missouri so far. We have a trip planned to a Missouri state park this year with concrete pads so we may get lucky. I use Lynx blocks and I'm not convinced I need the Anderson levelers either.

I usually have to level a few inches or so, but once set I have never had any settling issues. I doubt you would need the Anderson levelers, I've always been able to manage with a block of wood under one side, and sometimes when boon docking I dig a hole for the other side, I like doing that to prevent being too high for the steps, and it sure keeps the wheels steady when dropped in a hole.

We rarely go anywhere that has concrete pads. Most of the time it has a fairly good gravel pad. I would guess the majority of the time I put one block under one tire at every CG. I always put at least one block under each stabilizer.

It is fairly rare that I have to use multiple blocks, but I have, At most three layers of 2”x8”. I have even had to dig down to roll the trailer into a pit to get the unit leveled side to side. In that case I even had to dig down under the tongue (spare tire area) to get the nose low enough.

I don't want to sound like a PR man for Andersen Levelers because I'm not. I am a huge fan of them though. No, you do not need Andersen's especially if you are staying in fairly flat or paved spots. You do not need them anywhere if you don't want to shell out the cash to buy them, however the reason I bought them is where I camp most of the time, a membership RV campground out in the country, most of the spaces are not even close to being level. No paved spaces at all. I used 2X8's for years and got along just fine but since buying Andersen's, I can level myself on the first try in 1 minute or less using my big bubble level and rear view mirror. They are a good investment in my situation and well worth the $$$.

I've never had a perfectly level site. We almost always level side to side. I have a couple 2x6 boards and a 1x6 board.
