How old are you?
That sounds like a silly question but I'm serious. I'm 67 and plan on full timing it next year when my "younger" wife retires. I would like to get an idea who are the typical full timers are and if age matters.
I already know size doesn’t

I don't think age matters as much as physical condition. I'm 60 and don't plan to give up camping until my bones can't handle it anymore.

We are 39 and 49 and age doesn't matter. We've "part timed" for eight years and "full timed" for almost three now. I've read about entire families who have full timed and loved it. I think it takes a special person to be able to full time, not everyone can live and function from a TT, motorhome etc. I think if its something you want to do and have the mindset to be able to do so, then absolutely do it-regardless of age!

Age doesn't matter. We met people with school aged children, people that were typical retirement age, and others in-between. What does matter is: Quoting Bungalow 2015 -"...it takes a special person to be able to full time, not everyone can live and function from a TT, motorhome etc. I think if its something you want to do and have the mindset to be able to do so, ..."
I had many conversations with folks who wanted to know how we felt about fulltiming. Our answer was we really enjoy it. And our bottom line was always “You don’t know how much gypsy you have in you until you start the journey."
My advice to someone starting out would be to stay close to a familiar area until you feel comfortable with the lifestyle. I missed having a garage and my tools available. DW missed the full kitchen. Those two things shouldn’t have surprised us, but they did.
Not knowing where you will be next month (at times) was OK with us. I saw some folks have a tough time with that. Being able to go in any direction at any time was a real source of pleasure for me. It’s also greatly impacted by economics.
IMO, it’s a great lifestyle and if you even think you might like it you should give it a try.

I'm 55 my wife is 54, and both are retired. we've camped one to two weeks every month, April thru October. If it be the Lords will, we're gone to camp a lot more next year.
You ask about full timing, I say if your able, GO FOR IT !

I am 83, my child bride is 70- We have been fulltiming for 15 + years and have no plans to hang it up yet- It's not as easy to do as it was but it is still very fulfilling- We do look for a permanent site but haven't found it yet- JMHO- DD

On this forum, I'm 102 (If you don't believe me, check my profile)
I prefer not to disclose my real age because I'm in the witness protection program and, besides, it might give God ideas. However, I can truthfully say that I'm old enough to know better and too young to care.
To help everyone assess my true age, when I was born Truman was president and Pope Pius XII reigned. Although not a member, I've been eligible to join AARP for over a decade. According to a birthday mug I have - A postage stamp was $0.03
- Gasoline was $0.29/gallon
- Milk was $0.23/quart
There. Did that help any?
