I missed having a some green grass around while staying here in the Sonoran Desert at the Imperial Dam LTVA near Yuma, AZ. So today I went to Lowe's, bought a couple rolls of sod and some compost, worked up the rocky soil, made a good bed for the sod and planted.

After building up the rocky border, I watered my new lawn with 10 gallons of water.

Next project is a hummingbird feeder...

Happy New Year Everybody!

Nice....you are probably the only one in the neighborhood with grass.....now all you need is a small lawn mower, Bill. Happy New Year.

As small is it is, I could use my scissors! Or maybe the wild burros I saw today will come over and trim it for me.

SmokerBill, you have a winning situation there. I can't see my grass because it's covered with snow. The temperature is forecasted to be below freezing for the next couple of days. And there are no wild burros, just the neighbor's cat. I'd rather be where you're at.

I bet it would feel good to take your shoes off and stand in it. Wiggle your toes into the nice soft grass. We can't go bare foot here. We have about a foot of snow.
