If you have a Toddler...

Just a thought for those of you with children especially toddlers... Always have your key on you or one hidden outside. My daughter this weekend locked us out of or new camper. This is only our 2nd time out in the Jayco. Luckily, the key was in my pocket and I was able to unlock it. Once we got inside, went went to brush her teeth. Well the bathroom door closed and she (2 1/2 years old) locked it. So how to open the door?? and small regular screwdriver will do the trick. Didn't have one of those so had to find one. My brother happened to be camping with us with our old pup, and he brought along a small toolbox as this was his 1st outing in our old pup. It took a little while to get her out, but we did it! Thought others with kids should know this to be prepared. We have now added one to stay on board for the future.

Good advise. We have experienced both those senarios with our daughter. She still locks the bathroom door once in a while but now she can open it. I might just replace the bathroom door with a non locking knob since we really do not need a lock on the bathroom door.

I will pass this info on to my son. He has two little guys that won't leave anything alone.

This thread couldnt be more appropriate. We have my brothers 2 yr old with as we camp right now. Yesterday she locked the bathroom door with no one in it and I had to tear the TT apart looking for the little key that came with the TT to open it, fortunately I found it. When we get home the locking door handle will be replaced with one that doesn't lock.

Today my 4 yr old locked the TT door with us outside but thankfully I have a hidden key as she couldn't get it unlocked.

My bathroom door opens into the camper so if all else fails, I can knock the pins out of the door hinges and pull the door out of frame. When all else fails... grab a bigger hammer! lol

I am happy to hear we are not the only ones this has happened to. My wife thinks were bad parents because it happened 2 times within 3 minutes. Outside door then inside. I found it humorous as I knew we would get her out.
