Im getting spam and virus messages. Help

I'm getting slammed with spam and virus messages telling me im infected and can destroy my phone. I browse this site with an iPad not a phone however they are clouded together. It happened three times recently with this site. I'm on other truck and fishing forums and no problems there. Mostly happens when I click on campfire chat links. What gives. Any advice?

Thank you for getting on this. Since I'm new here I'm posting some screen shots so you see my complaint is real.

Both those came from page 5 of the Denver mattress thread. Thanks for looking into this.

I don't get virus messages but I do get tons of junk email since joining the site. Literally overnight, I went from rarely ever getting junk emails to getting several daily after joining. Not making any accusations, just stating my experience.

On another note, the junk emails are easy to identify and I always move them to my junk folder without opening them. After doing so for a month or so, the number I receive has dropped considerably.

I haven't received either spam or virus warnings. Funny how different the experiences can be for people.

Delete your temporary internet files and cookies to see if that helps.

You should download http://www.malwarebytes.com to your device and run a full scan to detect and remove any possible infection of Malware (malicious software).

Great program, have been using it for 4 years. I'm on here 3 to 4 hours a day and I've never had a problem with malware, ransomware, viruses, etc from this site. Their advertisers are pretty top notch so I don't see it coming from here necessarily, but who knows...

I believe you have some malware on your device that is redirecting you to their website based on a particular URL or URLs that you are attempting to load. I had a similar issue on my iPhone 5s the other day where the URL for the JOF home page was what the malware was keying from. Every time I tried to go to JOF, the home page would show for about a second and then I would be redirected to a website called ww7.greefl.com which consisted of nothing but ads containing links to the their websites. Yet, like you, I could go to other bulletin boards and websites with no problems, and I had no issues getting into JOF from my Windows computer. I spent the better part of a day searching before I found a solution to remove the malware.

This is not a problem with JOF. It is malware that has infected your device as once I removed the malware, I have not seen the problem reoccur.

Hey thanks for the replies. I'm using an Apple iPad Air not PC. Thought Apple was less susceptible to this kind of nuisance.

That is a long time fallacy.

Your device may be infected, this website is probably not.

Not a tech guru by any means and I don't own any apple gear but have you also cleared your browser cache on both devices? It may help; we have had a similar issue with our Galaxy phones (not with this site). Clearing the cache (once I figured out how, an adventure itself) seems to be effective.

Not looking to start a fire and being new here I'm just trying to fit in, but unless your the webmaster of this site you can't say that with complete confidence. All sites on the Internet are constantly attacked with spam and such. Maybe there is an issue. You nor I can be certain of that. I brought up the issue, not to draw attention to myself but to see if any other members were experiencing the same issue.

I having been experiencing the exact same issue reported on my iPhone 5S since mid-afternoon today. I have no issues accessing the site on my PC or Mac. I hope the administrators can get this under control quickly.

How do you remove malware from an iDevice. Never heard of such of thing. Apple devices are not perfect, close to it, but getting malware on the device itself is not something I have ever heard of. In my opinion its much more likely a problem with the hosting when accessed via an iDevice.
