Insurance Coverage Opps

So I put the HTT in storage (in a building) a few weeks ago, no big deal, and placed my old car in winter storage too. As I do every fall, I called the insurance company and placed the insurance level to storage on the car. While on the call I inquired if it made sense to do the same on the HTT, they stated it would save me about $60 for the winter on the HTT. What the heck, so I did. I have a loan on the HTT. I received a letter this past weekend telling me that I did not have adequate insurance, and if I did not up my insurance and show proof of adequate insurance they would purchase it for me at $2498.

$2.5K seems a little high; I think I paid a little more than $200 for the year, on a brand new trailer. I upped my insurance today!

Same thing happened to me on a van I had financed. I changed insurance companies and bank did not get the info. They took it on themselves to insure me at a cost $1800 if I did not show proof of insurance. I got it straight, went back to around 240.
