Internet Jayco X23B Purchase

Well, I went and did it. Most folks I spoke with tried to suggest against doing it, but I know more than those know it-alls anyhow so I went and did it. Okay enough already. I purchased a 2012 Jayco X23B from a dealer in Philly and had it shipped to me for 400 bucks. During the negotiation process, I had assurances that they were going through the trailer and would fix anything they "found" that needed fixing. They did actually "find" a bent bed support rod and replaced it. I also paid 375 bucks for them to go through this process by the way. I signed for the delivery, tipped the driver and went about a detailed check out of the trailer. I have since asked for my $375.00 back. What they did not "find" was a leaking slide out, a probably leaking refrigerator vent, a missing toilet paper dispenser, a family of spiders' which has my wife totally freaked out, and a table that has water damage and is in need of replacement. The trailer, by the way is still going to be my baby and I have learned a lot going through all the problems so in the long run, this is all minor stuff that caused me to get really familiar with all the details of the trailer. I saved the best/worst for last. The freakin black tank was 2/3 full. When I called to complain about this, the sales rep apologized and the service manager said it was probably just a hung up sensor. Wrong! I had to empty the tank bucket by bucket and dump it in the toilet in my family room. My wife doesn't know about this by the way so don't tell her. The trailer is not yet registered but will be this week so I can hardly wait for the road test shake down. I will not make the dealers name public but if you are considering purchasing a trailer from a dealer in the Philly area, email me and we can talk. Any bets on getting the table replaced?

Bummer but sounds like mostly minor repairs for the most part. You will really find out in the initial shake down test what needs attention and where some mods are also needed. Keep us updated.

Keep your chin up and address one thing at a time. Soon you will have all these issues taken care of and you'll be enjoying it!

Whoa! The black tank thing sent shudders through me. Poor thing!!!That is just WRONG for someone to even sell/trade it in like that!
For the damaged table - what about going to a local cabinet shop and having them replace the top only? I am sure they can match the standard plastic laminate very easily....

Congrats on your new "baby"!

Nothing sounds to bad. was it a brand new unit or a used one? If new you could contact Jayco and they can send you a new table, and maybe recommend how to have the slide seal fixed.

Being a two year old unit, check all the caulk, and not just on the roof. I noticed last fall I have a few spots looking suspicious on the roof and on the walls in the exterior corners. I bought the supplies, now I just need the unit out of winter storage.

Check out my mods in the signature line. The wardrobe cabinet and the bunk lights are some of my favorite mods.
