Is my motorhome pre-wired for a Furrion observation camera?

We have a 2016 Alante 26x and I'm ready to buy a Furrion FOS48TA-BL observation camera system. From what I've read here, Jayco pre-wires for installation of these types of devices. Does anyone know if this feature is on all Jayco rigs? Is it only Furrion products? I can't find a mention in the MHs manual, Specs, etc.

Thanks..

They don't all come prewired but you will know you have it because there should be a sticker inside your rig that says it is prewired. Typically near a 12v input. Mine is in the bedroom along with 2 usb ports.

The specs for your MH show the Backup and side-view cameras with monitor are standard with the (Mandatory) Customer Value Package

Well Sundance, here's the issue with what's installed. The monitor for both sits close to the floor which makes it impractical (unsafe) to use. I can't avert my eyes from the highway ahead at 65 MPh to look right and down every time I pass a vehicle.

If you have a monitor already installed, then yes, your system is wired for it.

Sounds like you need to install an additional monitor? Or move the current one?

Would you keep the current camera?

Or are you trying to install a second camera and monitor?

Yes, vcbice, I want to install a "always on" observation camera and monitor. We want to be able to check on our dolly and toad as well as the highway behind us. The Furrion system I mention above looks like a good fit but I don't want a complicated installation.

In my Jay flight 26bh it's alwys on. It's prewired from the factory that way above the middle taillight. Even when the lights are off. As long as there is power to my rig the cam is on. I can even take the monitor out of my TV and plug it into the 12v over the nightstand and can monitor the rear of my TT. It really comes into use while driving and backing up.
Since you have a motorhome the setup is prob a bit different but it was a very easy install that took me about an HR to complete.

One caution. If your current camera is set to turn on only when in reverse then you need to check the power supply to the camera to make sure it is on all the time. On my truck it is wired to the reverse light circuit. To have it on all the time I had to rewire it.

On our trailer the supplied wiring had a switch so the camera could be turned off (switch was in the battery compartment).
