Itching to go

I'm sitting on a tugboat in the ice filled Hudson River. Been a long cold tough one. I'm itching so bad to get home its killing me. Cause on April 3 me and my son are headed to Key Largo for a week of scuba diving. A spent the last week I was home finishing up maintenance on our new (to us) tow vehicle and getting the TT ready. Only thing left to do is flush out the water lines. Been a really cold winter offshore, and I am so looking forward to some palm trees 75° water and few lazy days of sunshine. Got a real bad case of channel fever right now and still got 17 more days on this steel monastery.

Is anybody else ready to stretch out and hit the road?

Very ready to hit the road, especially now that we've opened up the TT again. First trip out is April 17, and it can't come soon enough...

First time out is to the Boston/Cape Cod KOA in Middleborough, MA - only about 20 miles from home, but wanted to stay close for the first trip. A couple of other short trips to the Cape and CT planned before heading to MN & KY in early June

I've been in and out of the TT this past week, after finally warming up a bit here in the Northeast, and can understand the itch. Trying to plan a trip for mid to late April, and can't decide between Nashville or Florida. Wife and I just want to get away a bit to relax, but some site seeing would be ok also. Been to Florida many times, just not with an RV.

Been running heating oil from Perth Amboy up to Albany. Just took us off of it. Currently I'm sitting in the Kill Van Kull in Bayonne NJ waiting on a barge to go bunker a ship out in the harbor. Lots of ice in the river this year. Took this picture 4 days ago.

Dirtfan, nothing like the sweet smell of a 28BHBE on a March morning!

Robkelly- When you guys go to the cape, when do you typically go over the bridge? Late at night? early morning? I'd love to camp on the Cape but the idea of the bridge and traffic have kept me from doing it. (We go the White Mtns and Maine coast from NH)

Cannot wait myself for our first trip camping. Where in Key Largo are you scuba diving? A couple of years ago my son worked at the a scuba place in the Keys for the winter.

I generally work from home, and start very early on Fridays so we can start the weekend a bit sooner. We're generally over the bridge by 3:30 or 4:00. There is usually a bit of a backup, but nothing major.

We are also looking forward to the beginning of camping season. We camp up the cape from April through October. Took a ride to the campground today. Lots of snow needs to start melting.

We also have to wait for the new camper to be built and delivered.

Right now we have two days of diving 2 dives each day planned. We are with Rainbow Reef. We will be doing exclusive reef dives with no wrecks. Open to another day or two of diving but we are gonna play it by ear. We also plan to spend one day looking for alligators in the Everglades. Other than the two days reserved we plan to do the rest of the week off the cuff.
