Unhappy I've Joined the "LOST KEY'S" Club

I can't even believe it! I had a carabiner full of keys for tt, bike lock, kayak lock, Bal-X chock locks, hitch and tongue locks that disappeared on our last campout! I can't even remember where I last had them (I'm one of those if they aren't on the hook or in my pocket, I'm outta luck ). Checked twice with lost-n-found, nothing.

I guess I have to suck it up and plan to get new ones *sigh*

Oh No! Hate to hear that. Did you have a spare set? I purchased a key box and put it in a closet with a copy of every key I own after I lost a set a few years ago.

I do remember you saying something about a wine tasting while you were camping....

Yea! the cg just called! Someone found them in the day use section. I was holding a bunch of stuff and guess I dropped them while walking back to the campsite!

LOL Fische, it was actually our first day when I lost the keys. I didn't realize it until the next day when heading out for the wine tasting, so the wine tasting on Saturday could easily have turned into a 'whine' tasting

I tried to get copies of my TT door made and have had no luck, we even have some very specialized key makers available and they can't get blanks. If anyone has made keys please forward the manufacturer and blank code.
Thanks!
Jim

Jim - I would call your local Jayco dealers. Mine had no trouble cutting the keys at all and they were like $3 each if I remember correctly. I would think that any "super center" dealership with a parts store would have that equipment, but maybe I am wrong.

Just remembered I had found this site the last time this came up --

Try the lock manufacturer's site -- http://www.bauerproducts.com/replacementkeys.php

Let me know if you have any luck with them.

Such a "small/simple" item can really affect you - when I retired earlier this year (after 26+ years) I had to turn in my keys. Such an empty feeling not having that key chain... Glad it turned out well - P.S. How was the wine?

Actually, the one I won is pretty good right now! My keys are in the mail and my youngest two grandkids just went home. It's after 5pm one time zone over so we're opening up that bottle!

Life as we know it comes to a halt when we are keyless. Glad you are getting them back.

I've been watching "James May's Road Trip" with Oz Clarke on BBC America (May is from the British version of Top Gear and Oz is a wine expert); they travel from vineyard to vineyard and Oz is trying to teach May about wine. I have to admit, I'm a beer/Jack man, but, this show has given me a new appreciation of wine... I can't wait to visit California and explore the various wineries.

I like to have Jack Daniels when offered

Wineries popped up in our area pretty much overnight a few years ago. You can find wine tasting in just about every community along the South central coast cities

Time for a road trip out here to Tennessee and the fine city of Lynchburg. The JD tour is really neat and historic..... oh - did I mention that it is in a dry county (no samples )

If you like that stuff from Kentucky - you can head north to the Bourbon Tours - there was nothing like sitting in Jim's house sipping on some Booker's - talk about relaxing.

This isn't really so bad. A simple waiting game will get them back. :hihi:

Glad the keys are on the way home. Losing keys has got to be one of the worst feelings. I lost mine once and finally found them after retracing my steps, but it did take a couple hours. What a relief when I found them. And yes I did tell DW, she helped me search.
