Jay flight skylight In kitchen

I was told today that they are no longer making the 26bh with the extra skylight In the kitchen. Not sure if any other models are affected.
I called the factory and everybody is out. I was looking to pull the trigger this weekend and have the choice of with or without it. Does anybody know what's going on ?

Good riddance.

Those acrylic skylights become faded and brittle after 4 years.

My kitchen skylight failed this winter under snow load. Luckily I was there when it happened!

The replacement Lexan piece cost me $120, and the job to replace was ugly.

They also allow quite a lot of heat in. Might be better off without it.

I ordered my 2017 camper and had the factory delete the kitchen and bathroom skylight. I've read of a few that have cracked and about the additional heat they allow in. We get plenty of light from the windows... the 26bh is a nice camper. Go ahead and pull the trigger!

I really wish my unit didn't have the skylight in the shower. It's hot and cold and will be the first thing to break or leak on the roof.

Sadly, with the current "fad" (maybe it has changed by now) of dark wood, dark windows, etc, a skylight really helps.
