Jayco axles already flipped?

I'm looking to get a little more height out of my 2008 Jayco pop-up. I was going to do the basic moving of the leaf spring from under to over the axle.

However, I just checked it out before buying the Dexter over/under kit and the axle is already under the spring. Is that something Jayco started doing?

Anyway, what are my options at this point? Could I still get the Dexter kit with the longer U-bolts and use a spacer/etc. on top of the existing spring perch (which is already welded on the top of the axel)?

Thanks in advance!

Look for additional spring attachment holes. They can also be use to raise the height.

If you do not have any spring perches like shown above, a welding shop could add some. Another option is to add blocks and new U-bolts to lift the PU. This is similar to what lifted 4x4s use.

I don't have the additional adjustment holes. I looked around for new blocks and U-Bolts but could not find any online at any trailer stores. I have a single leaf spring axle, 2 3/8 tube. Any idea where I could find a set? Or any other ideas rather than having something fabricated?

Thanks

Some possible suggestions:
1) Larger diameter tires - watch for clearance issues
2) Lift blocks between the axle spring perches and the springs
3) Skid plate under the rearmost 1/3 of the trailer
4) Longer shackle between the rear of the spring and the mounting bracket
5) re-check the front mounting bracket, you may be able to add the needed holes yourself.
