Jayco Cycling Team

I was down under a few weeks ago and saw a group of cyclists and all of them were wearing Jayco cycling jerseys. I didn't know Jayco sponsors cycling. I talked to some of the guys I was working with and apparently Jayco Australia has a huge cycling presence.

A quick search on the internet and I found this:

http://www.dhgate.com/new-blue-jayco...3b6902241.html

or

http://cgi.ebay.com/JAYCO-blue-CYCLI...-/160589022378

or
(My favorite)

http://store.skins.net/au/men/cyclin...ve-jersey.html

Even though I am not cyclist, I am considering buying a jersey because it has "Jayco" on it.

Those dont look half bad, but not sure I want to spend that much to advertise for them - they should pay me

I have had some problems with quality on some of the company branded products - they are just not as good as my Izumis. Shorts more than anything....I really have to have a comfortable pair.

Now if I could only get the time to ride more!

Thats the problem, finding time to ride. But on a side note those australians sure can sprint. They produce some fast riders. Not sure why cycling is as big in north america as it is in europe or australia. Washed the tour de france 7 years ago and I think 1.25 million people on the side of a mountain 8 miles long.

Cheers

I like IP's also, but switched from shorts to bibs, and the IP bib's are just as comfortable as the shorts. All of my jersey's except one are plain as I am like you, they should pay me to advertise for them. I may make an exception for the Jayco Jersey.

It is also big in South Africa and China. You don't see much coverage in the states on any of the races unless you have the Versus Channel. I did go and see the Tour of California, was on Mt. Baldy and watched that leg, and then the next day saw the final stage leave Santa Clarita, and beat them going to Thousand Oaks and was able to secure a seat in the Amgen VIP Tent at the finish line.

If that's the one a couple of weeks back, it came through Solvang and did time trials of some sort. Was a pretty big ta-do

Tour of California was in Solvang, and they had the time trials there.

For those wandering, anyone can cycle and have a good time. It is a great way to see the country, or around the CG and surrounding areas. I am 49, Doctor said no more running sue to bad knees, but cycling was something that is low impact to your knees. Yes, you will feel funny the first few times you wear cycling shorts, but I am no gym rat, and am used to it. I would not go to the grocery store wearing them, but they are ok on a bike.

I used to bicycle long distances with the appropriate bike. Lately, sorry to say more lazy. But Don and I still take our bikes with us to enjoy leisure rides where we can when traveling. Here's one with Don and his leisure bike. Milwaukee has a nice bike route... especially along the river

Actually, I've seen that first hand - several times. Thank you anyone for your "freedom" opinion, but I will continue to wear a helmit even on a leisure ride! And so will my grandkids when camping with us. Period! .

I also wear a helmet, I only have one brain and would like to keep it in working condition. There are those who think it is their freedom not to, but it my freedom to wear one. Can't be to safe out there, and any edge I can get surviving the unthinkable, is an edge I will gladly take.

I have two friends while riding fall and crack their helmet in two. Some say no need, I thing everyone should wear one. Here the law is under 18 must wear a helmet, but how can I ask my kids to wear a helmet and not wear one myself. My two cents.

Wearing a helmet is great but wearing it correctly is more important.. I have seen so many ride with the helmet tilted back to fully expose the forehead that if you fall forward it will be of little or no use to you.. wear it just over the eyebrows and if someone holds the helmet in their hand and moves it your skin on your forehead should move too..

My rule of thumb for making sure it is on right is, put on your helmet, put on sunglasses/glasses, bring helmet down to just about the top of sunglasses/glasses. You need to make sure your sunglasses/glasses earpieces are outside the straps. Failure to put your sunglasses/glasses over the the straps on the outside can cause them not to fall off as they should when you go down, but more importantly failure to do so can cause them to become lodged in your skin. Head wounds bleed badly, and instinct is to remove said lodged object, not realizing it is now part of you, and head wounds bleed like no others. Have seen this more than once. The reason for wearing some type of sunglasses is not just protection from the sun, but to keep the bugs and debris out of the eyes.

I have taken two nasty falls (ok, both on the same day - go figure). While I probably would have been OK without the helmet - it sure was nice not to have a knot on my head! I also have the extended visor and it keeps the sun out of my eyes - so I like it anyway for that.
