Jayco Purchase

Getting ready to purchase a Jayco Swift SLX 19 RB any thoughts ? Is Jayco the way to go ? It appears to be a fairly well constructed travel trailer compared to other brands and the two year warranty is attractive.

Thank you for your comments in advance.

First off welcome to the group
Jayco offers a well built trailer for a decent price. the two year warranty and floorplan was what sold me on Jayco.

You are on the Jayco forum, where people generally own a Jayco... granted there are complaints, but this may not be the ultimate source for unbiased opinions!

I'm very new to this but find them a respectable brand and are mostly regarded as one of the better made units. That said, TT's are not generally super well made and most of the parts are universal among the TT builders.

I do think you have good resale with Jayco are a known name.

Welcome! We did a lot of looking around before buying, but kept coming back to Jayco because of, in our opinion, the superior build quality, and of course the two year warranty. As Dirkdaddy notes though, most of us are going to be biased in favor of Jayco

You will be happy. I agree that you may have some issues, you will have them with any trailer you buy. But I have owned 3 trailers 1 starcraft pup that i bought used and 2 jaycos that I bought new. I can say that I did have some issues with the starcraft but it was their entry level model and I bought it used. The first Jayco was one of their top line pup and I had no issue what so ever other than normal wear and tear, I ran that trailer for 13 years and used it almost every weekend. I took it on vacations all the time and put alot of miles on that trailer. It held together well. I sold it to a private party and they were impressed with how well it was taken care of. Thhey said that they had looked at several trailers and had not found any that looked this good. I do take care of them, wash them and make sure that I fix any issues when they happen. A few years back I purchased a new Jayco Hybrid, I have had some minor issues with it, Jayco has taken care of all of them. I have put a few miles on this one as well already but hope to run it down the road another 10 years before we trade up again. I have seen other trailers that friends have owned and they are not built as well, if you are going to use them make sure they are built well, I believe Jayco's are.
