Jayco QC - Is it Lacking?

Our Eagle was for all practical purposes trouble free throughout the warranty period and continues to be after three years, about 10,000 miles, with about a hundred of them on our terrible road to the highway.

Is it my imagination, or are Jayco buyers having far more complaints the last two or three model years? I may be replacing ours with something more suited to half year occupancy, and so I have reason to be wondering. We're looking at a couple of other manufacturers' units, but they are quite a bit more expensive.

I just purchased my second unit and while I had a few more warranty issues than the first they were all very manageable issues and fixed to my standards. One thing I think we need to remember is that there was a lull in sales over the last 4 years as a result of the economy and now that it is stronger new unit sales are up. More sales = more units on the same lines which will result in pressure to put units to completion faster IMHO. So with less time I think some things are being pushed to the dealers for completion. This goes for all brands and not just Jayco.

i have bought 2 new Jayco products one popup and one TT now the popup was perfect with 0 problems had it over a year traded it in for a TT Bought it from (Trailside RV in Kansas City ) and i will never to that again i have had all small problems but the dealer was very hard to deal with and they dont care one bit after you roll off the lot .... i had to replace the lock 3 times ... the sink and a few small ends here and there. i think most of the problem was how the dealer stored the camper for the year it sat on the lot.

Ours was manufactured in January and we bought it off the lot in March so it didn't sit around. We still had a bunch of problems that luckily were small and I was able to fix myself as the dealer is 2 hours away. It seems like buying a new camper is similar to buying a used car. If your not handy expect trips back to the dealer..

i look at it as a reason to just upgrade what ever broke simple as that

x2 ... stuff happens sometimes and you have to look at it as an opportunity to make it better!
I'm on my 5th travel in my life, and I've dealt with most warranty/non-warranty mishaps. Only two trips to the dealer because I already knew it was covered!

We are on our third Jayco product. First two travel trailers no problems whatsoever. The new 2014 33.5RETS had major problems out the gate. It should have never left the factory as the problems were easily identifiable because they flat didn't work. That being said, the dealer nor I located the same problems on a walk through. For example, hot water heater worked on electric, but not on gas. Until we went on our first cold weather trip and needed our furnace, we had not tried it. That required a hole cut in a storage wall to remove the furnace itself to replace a control board. I will say the dealer went out of his way by arranging techs to come to our campground to help with our problems. He also got everything in working order after the first couple of trips and has been an exemplary dealer as far as we are concerned(Team RV, in Albany, Ga.). But yes, I think quality is suffering at the factory but then they probably all are.

To me YES, to many dings scratches loose/missing screws and things like that. No one is watching the quality in assembly. They are being pushed to fast down the line.
