Jenson Radio

Anybody else had problems with the Jenson Radio receiver in the 2012 Jayco's? Just got a 2012 Whitehawk 28dsbh and when you turn on the radio it plays for about 5 seconds then shuts off. Can't figure it out. Radios should be simple.

Anyone know which Eagle models do and do not have Jenson radios? My 2011365BHS had a Jenson but our friend just bought a 351MKTS and says his sterio is some cheaper non-Jenson unit. I'm trying to figure out what our 2012 365BHS is going to have in it.
For what it's worth, we had no problems at all with the Jenson in our 11.

I have the Jensen stereo/ DVD combo in mine and I have no problems with it staying on. I would call your dealer.

Check the owners manual for a "sleep" option. Mine was doing that once from someone pressing the wrong front panel or remote buttons. We also had a time figuring out the alarm features on it that would cause it to be on at the most inopportune times.

Get familiar with all the options before goint to the dealer.

Mine would turn on at random times (no, it was not the alarm) and had a preference for the USB port even tho nothing was plugged into it. Called Jayco and they sent me a replacement under warranty and paid for me to ship the bad one back. Removal and install was a snap.

Post No Audio to TV from Jensen Radio

We have a 2013 25BHS. The wife wants to be able to spin the TV around and play a DVD with audio only on the TV, and not the A,B or C channels. The Jensen unit is hooked up (red, white & yellow) correctly, but no audio comes through the TV. I am good on a/v type stuff, and this is not rocket science, but this one baffles me! I have gone through all of the audio options on the TV and the Jensen, but not cracked the code.
On a side note, I am baffled Jensen does not have a blu ray, nor the option for running it all via HDMI.......any suggestions? Thanks in advance!!!!

I just replaced my Jensen. The DVD would not eject. Extended warranty covered it and since I installed it, the deductible was waived by my dealer.

It won't play through the TV speakers because the Jensen is hooked to the headphone out jack so the internal TV speakers are disconnected automatically.

Mine works fine. One of my outside speakers isn't working, but no big deal, I'll have the dealer look at it after camping season is over.

We're off track with the OPs question but since we are, mine works fine too. The FIRST thing I did the morning after getting the Eagle home was pull the Jensen and look at connections. It does have HDMI out so I removed the other RCA connections and ran a single cable in place. Also, ran the cables from the TVs audio out back to the AUX in the Jensen. Now full quality DVD and can hear over the air TV through the speakers. My main complaint with the Jensen is the FM on roof antenna. If it was easily done I'd upgrade to a better one (aren't we usually, by nature, outside of town?).

There is a lower quality unit on the market than a Jensen? My Jensen works fine but if it give me a problem outside the waranty, it will be replaced with something with a Sony, Pioneer or some stereo maker with a better reputation.

And at about half the cost of the Jensen.

I only looked 1/2 hearted, but I didn't really see any better alternatives that had all the same function as the Jensen. If someone knows of a couple off hand I would be interested. The important pieces for us is AM/FM/iPod/DVD --- when I looked it was the DVD that couldnt be located. Otheres have placed a sepatate DVD player but I am not really intereted in another appliance.

This forum is great,I was just going to ask how to get the TV sound through the Jenson.
I do have a question though.......How do you get the trim ring off to get to the screws that holds the Jenson in place? just thought I'd ask before I break something.

Mine just pulls off, has two little tabs top and another two bottom. Just pry a corner a bit and you'll see it pops off. Presses right back on, at least for a while, might wear the tabs eventually.
