Jenson sterio system upgrade

Anyone here replaced their AWM965 with the AWM968?

I have a powered sub that I would like to add to my 965 but there are no signal level outputs.

I have not, but if I did, it would not be with another junky Jensen. For the same, or probably less money than another Jensen, I'd replace it with a quality multimedia automotive head unit. You'd get your powered subwoofer out then too.

Thanks Doc. The only reason i would consider the Jenson up-grade is the cutout and screw location are the same. I found the 968 for about $250.00, have not pulled the trigger yet.

Before pulling the trigger explore your options. Check Crutchfield, better yet, give them a call. They can probably set you up with a faceplate that fits the hole and gives it nice finished look. And they'll probably include it for free with a purchase.

+1 on Crutchfield. I have purchased auto and home audio gear from them several times over the past twenty years. They provide very knowledgeable tech support for life for all their gear. And, their tech support is right here in the USA which is unusual these days. It has been my experience that overseas tech support personnel have a very difficult time with a Southern accent.

I have not. I have the same as you and would like the bluetooth of the 968. If you do plan on going with the 968, I found a decent price here - http://www.adventurerv.net/jensen-aw...source=Froogle

Keep us informed as to what you end up going with. It's a mod I really want to accomplish.

I was looking at the 968 again. I think I would like to find one with blue ray and DVD. I thought it was a blue ray player, but it really would only upgrade to a Bluetooth for me. I can get a Bluetooth adapter pretty cheap. Not worth the upgrade for me

harleysandtattoos--did you replace the 965 with the 975? I have looked at a million times. There are A LOT of wires. How did you connect them? We call Jensen every 3 months to inquire about a patch cord.

I only wanted to add a line level audio out. The speaker wires are the same and use the same connector. it looks like a plug and play swap.
