Just My Luck This Camping Season

Haven't had rain but one day in the last 20 days and they change the weather forecast to rain for Saturday and Sunday and then 9 more days of sun of course we are camping this weekend for my daughters birthday and she is bringing two friends

I think I have spent more time in my camper this summer due to rain than the last three years combined. O well can't cancel at this point so might as well deal with it.

I feel your pain. It has rained ever time we've been out this year. Its getting to the point where friends and family ask us if we're camping so they can plan their weekend accordingly.

I think my friends are the same way.....they wait for me to book and then book the weekend before or after so they get the good weather, lol. My goodness though I wish I would catch a break for one trip this year...

I was so irritated when I checked the forecast I jokingly told my wife that's I am selling the camper. She didn't seem amused

On it! I already told my daughter to get a big pile of games and told my wife to stop at the movie rental place and pick up one or two for them if we need them in the evening.

Maybe we will try a hike in the rain as long as it isn't thundering.

We use to play in the rain all the time as kids. What's wrong with getting a little wet? Camp on, play on kids!

Seven of the last eight weeks have been absolutely perfect here in Michigan. The other week was 20 degrees below average, windy, rainy, and cloudy. Guess which week we were on our weeklong trip that's 5 hours away from home?

Always guaranteed to rain on us on the WA Coast in the spring/fall. We prepare accordingly and also bring a propane fire pit. Not much heat generated so you can have it under the awning and roast weenies and marshmallows in the rain.

Well it ended up being a perfect weekend! Slightly overcast 72 degrees and a few sprinkles for about 10 minutes. Guess I shouldnt have been complaining. This was the first time we have camped with a full hookup site in 7 years and I have to admit it was nice.

If it does not rain on us a camping trip it is newsworthy. One trip back before kids, my wife and I camped on Kelly's Island in Lake Erie. We expected rain so set up our tent under the edge of this makeshift 10 by 20 foot tarp and had an ez up. Perfect weather all weekend. One of our camping neighbors thought one of us was allergic to the sun.

Our camping circle named our rig the StormPOD.
Be fitting for the past 3 years.

I'm surprised we ever went camping again after our first trip. It was a 5 day trip and it rained every day--a lot! There was no awning on our very used camper to have protection from the rain. I still have a vision of DH grilling steaks with a fork in one hand and trying to hold onto the tarp with the other. Had to wash kids clothes in the shower after going through more than expected with the rain. That was 25+ years ago and we all still have fond memories of that trip and all the ones that came after it!

Yeah, my rig is now called the 'Drought Buster 3000'. Not sure what the 3000 is about.
