Kitchen faucet frustrates me

We have a Jayco Eagle SuperLite HT 26.5 RLS and the "spray" end of the faucet is frustrating us. I took it off one day, just to look at it, and now I can't get it to work properly. Initially, I couldn't get the "diffuser" to go back on the arm, it's an inside thread, but I sliced the little "neoprene" gasket in half and I am able to get it back in the arm, but now it simply sprays water everywhere. Makes a big mess when using it. Has anybody had this problem and what did you do to fix it, short of buying a new faucet for the sink? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have a similar one and it frustrates me as well for the same reasons. I've replaced the bathroom faucet already and I think the kitchen is next!

Too bad Jayco puts such crappy taps in the trailers. I expected better especially in the White Hawk and Eagle lines.

Has the WhiteHawk become a premiem line with Jayco? When I was looking at them last year I didn't consider them to be in the same class as the Eagles as far as ammenities and quality of finishes.

They market the Summit edition as "top of the line". Eagle is now "premium standards". It's all marketing.

Bottom line is that they put they same crappy faucets in both, it appears.

dmward, what type of faucet did you get to replace the bathroom one and, what will you be getting to replace the kitchen one, if you do?

See my post here for the bathroom. Just one that I picked up a the home store.

For the kitchen, most standard kitchen faucets will work. We haven't shopped around yet.

Bathroom one was easy to install, other than working in a tight spot under the sink.

I replaced the bathroom tap with a brass tap ( Peerless) 4" center and got rid of the plastic one, I did not have to replace the kitchen one as it had a defect and the dealer replaced it with a higher quality unit. The taps they use I have found in most discount stores.

I had a similar problem and replaced the aerator with one I happen to see at CW for about $5. It's plastic and swivels so the spray can be directed. It works fine so I like it. The aerator came with all type of fittings so one of them will fit your faucet threads for sure.

jal0710,

If your faucet is like the one in my Eagle TT, it's a standard kitchen faucet with the pull-out spray head. You can replace just the head for a lot less $$ and a lot less work. They are available at camping world, but you'll find a much better selection at Home Depot, Lowe's, Menards, or your local Ace/True Value hardware store. Just screw the old head off the hose, then screw the new one on.

This is good to know. Thanks!

Just the sprayer is a PITA.

Unfortunately, Brownie, I have a little bit less quality faucet than you have. It's a pretty cheap two-handle faucet that has a high rise spout. I did get it to work the other day without replacing it but wonder why I couldn't get it to work earlier. I guess time will tell. I would bet I break it one of these days, hope I don't get too much water all over the FW when it happens.
