This is Schotzi our 4 year old Schnauzer. She is just learning to camp, but does great.

We can't slow this guy down, we found out at his first vet visit he had genetic hip dysplasia, been on meds for it ever since. He is however, the first in the truck to go, and first out when we get there.

Here is our friend and fellow camper. Mention the word "camping" and she is on her hind legs with tail going. Even at home, if we are just out for a walk, she sees the trailer and tries to head straight for it.

Mindi also doubles as a bear protection dog - one night at home a while back she woke us up around midnight barking her head off. Soon as we opened the curtain across the sliding deck door, we were face to face with a full grown black bear about 2 feet away. Mindi tried her best to get at that bear, and she succeeded in scaring it away. A big bacon treat was her reward.

She looks like a cross between Our sable sheltie and shelter dog which is (jack russel, chihuahua, australian cattle dog).

What about a camp cat? Does that count? We don't have a dog but could always take the house cat along to make things interesting.

This is our camping dog..Sasha. She is a rescue from the pound. She was found tied to the shelters door. We adopted her 4 years ago. A week after adoptin Sasha developed a fake pregnancy and infection in her uterus. She was already going to be spayed but it was moved up sooner. If she had not been adopted, chances are that they would not have found the infection and she would have died. We believe she is our miricle dog.
She goes everywhere with us. She loves to camp and will sit outside the camper parked in the driveway at home, hoping to get in it. We just bought a new travel trailer andI can't wait to see what she does with all the room in it..bet she claims the couch as hers.
