I cracked up at the picture of the chickens and imagining someone camping with one or two of them. Not sure how popular a person would be at sun-up in the campground when the rooster started at 5 AM though!

Here are my camping girls. This picture is about 5 years old - from the first day we brought home our first camper, a pop up. They had to pick out their bed, of course! Piper is our dalmatian - she hates to camp or get dirty. Bailey was our yellow lab, and she loved every second of it. You can tell by the look on her face, for sure! Piper is 13 and as her back legs are failing her, hates camping more than ever. Bailey was 13 when we lost her in May. Our lives are much less full without her with us. Loved that smile.

KC is my 14 1/2 year old Dalmatian. She was 3 and 1/2 when we brought her home. She came from a very abusive home, and is the only Dal that I would want to have again (we have had Dalmatians for over 28 years). I am her person, but she loves the whole family. She rarely barks when camping, even if other dogs bark at her. She is by bud.

She thinks she fits in a cat bed.

My beloved Old English Bantam roo "Erskine" from my first hatch after getting back into raising chickens a few years ago. This little roo would jump up in my lap and let me pet him with no food being offered and just sit there til I put him down. Regrettably in March he was run over in the yard, by me. I did not see him in front of the truck, usually they get out of the way but for whatever reason he did not.. That was a bad day. And no tafische, I do not take the chickens camping!

Sorry to learn about the loss of your dog, CM. Cats are infamous, maybe even more so than dogs, for hiding under vehicles. As proof, here's Purrscilla underneath the TT.

Hey FPM, it was a chicken...........But it still hurt! Yeah cats also have been known to crawl up into the engine compartment on cars in the Winter and get mauled when starting the engine.

I've got my pup with me at the beach this weekend. Woke up to a chilly, but beautiful morning. Walked to the beach and snapped this.

Allow me to introduce Finn - the newest member of our camping family. We bring her home this Friday. She's our second yellow lab, though the first with a black nose, as our Bailey (in my profile & signature pics) was a Dudley - no black pigment.
