Lets talk new tires (sorry if topic is beaten to death)
So in another post of mine this morning, I posted about a blow out on the Jayco. In a pinch of time and money (more time) I got a "cheep" tire the tire shop had on the shelf. The tire guy said "there are prettey much 2 manufactures of ST tires with about 25 differant names on them, and they're all made in China".
So the tire is a Commodore ST225/75R15 E. I'm thinking of going back up there to get 3 more when my BIL's camper is done (my BIL dropped off their camper up there for some water damage repair after this weekend).
Ever hear of the name? whats the Good, Bad, Ugly, of this tire?

 Never heard of it? All of the "trailer" tires maybe made in China, however many are designed in the USA and most are mfg. at different facilities.

Maxxis ST tires sold in the US are made in Thailand.

I have read good reviews on Maxxis tires, have never owned any. I think it's a shame that none are made in the USA!

I have Maxxis on my new trailer. I took the OEM tires off within a week of ownership because they were load range D and replaced them with Maxxis load range E. Never heard the first bad thing about them.

I'm on my second set of Maxxis on the 23B. I just replaced the original set this spring with an identical set. No complaints from me.

Yokohama Y788R is an option I've recently saw on a trailer and the owner we over the top happy with them.

Just remember that they may be built in the same factory but they are built to different standards.. . I agree with wishing tires were made over here.. but are you really willing to pay twice as much for the tire?

YES! I guess that I am one of the few that buy American any time that I can. If there were more people like me there would be more manufacturing jobs in this great country!

As far as I know Maxxis has never been made in the US and they are one of, if not the largest tire company in the world.
I always buy american made when I can but the real volume purchasing power rests with the OEM's. When they went to China for tires that was the end of ST tires in the US. Manufacturers of tires need the OEM business and a large piece of the after market to justify making tires here. So ask the OEM camper manufacturer why they didn't demand a US product on their units......

Plowtoy a quick google search turned up good reviews on the commodores. They are also sold by NTB I think you will be fine with them just keep them inflated properly and you will be fine.
