Looking for Great Warranty Service Dealer in Northeast (without buying from t...

Looking for a suggestion for a great Jayco Warranty Service Center in the Northeast US. I'm located in CT. This Fall/Winter I will have a punch list prior to warranty expiration. My CT dealer won't even talk to me on the phone because I didn't purchase from them. A recommendation from you guys will need to be a dealer that is friendly to "Warranty orphans". This is what I was referred as and called by the only Jayco dealer in CT on the phone. That was a nice touch. I told Jayco Warranty rep that. She apologized for their unprofessionalism but stated they have no control over who they deny service to or how they operate. This is a different industry than automobiles and aircraft (my profession)

Looking into Forrest Marine and RV Center of Tyngsboro Mass (1st Choice), WES Trailers on Long Island NY or Garicks of New Jersey are somewhat close.

Looking for a thorough and quality service center that will take time to do it right, regardless. I guess who isn't?

Thanks in advance.

Id consider up to a 3 hour drive or maybe a bit more reasonable for great service.

Call Jayco Customer Service. Explain your situation to them, they may be able to recommend someone or even call the dealer you wanted to use on your behalf.

That's my suggestion.

Did that already. They can't help me on the local dealer, nothing they can do, and they read me a list of the local dealers and said it was up to me to chose one. Of the three I listed I'm looking for feedback both good and bad for them so I can make a good choice by Fall (or earlier). Id really like to use Forrest in Mass. Thanks CC!

I can't comment on the dealers in your area.

I will suggest asking around for a non-dealer service only facility in your area. We have several around here and from what I know they do much better work than any dealer. The owner is often in the shop with the crew. I know Jayco has in the past approved these types of businesses to perform warranty work -- if the shop is willing to do it.

By the way, where did you buy the RV? Any reason you aren't just going back there?

I have no problem recommending Garick's in NJ. We bought from them after getting a run around from a NY dealer, and have to say I have no complaints regarding the sale, nor warranty service. If I need something taken care of, I would plan my route to go past their area, even though they are about 75 miles away, and they take care of it while we wait. Had a couple of warranty issues taken care of like that, a slide topper and second battery installed on way back from PA, vent cover installed on way to TN, minor warranty issues on way back from TN, etc. I call in and they say, "no problem, stop in on the way through and we'll take care of it". Of course if it is a major job, then I would expect to leave it, but so far haven't had that problem. Give them a call, doesn't hurt to ask. Good luck.

W.E.S. Trailers on Long Island has a good reputation. I buy some parts from them. I haven't had any warrenty work done by them, but the guy I bought my MH from liked them a lot. One Precept owner I met at a local CG told me that W.E.S. doesn't sell or stock many MH's (which I knew), but the owner told him to buy his Precept anywhere and they would service it. W.E.S. owners have been in business a long time (since early 50's i think) and must be ok to survive that long.

Thanks for the great info. Seems like WES is a great option as well as Garick, however WES may be a better alternative.

I purchased the unit from RVDirect, took delivery at AlbanyRV. I won't bring it there for maintenance after my initial PDI nightmare with them and things I found after PDI due to their negligence.

Still appreciate any info!!

Thanks.

I'm very happy with Forrest Marine & RV. Never any questions asked, work is top notch, and they do their best to get the TT back to you as soon as possible. Certainly doesn't hurt to give them a call
