Looking for some help finding new camper

we currently have a jayco 16xrb and are looking to get something bigger now, looking to stay under 5,000 lbs and under 26' will be towing with a '13 grand cherokee hemi with tow package (7200lbs tow rating). we looked at some other jayco units today but didnt really find a floor plan we like. trying to find something with larger bunk beds and a fold out full size bed or even a regular trailer with bunks at one end and full size bed at the other, we also want a slide for more room inside (have a 5 and 3 yo now) we did find a jayco we liked but it was 30' long and i think thats to long for my wheelbase (but feel free to chime in). Anyone camping in something like i mentioned now? So far a forest river shamrock 21ss is looking to be close to what we want (no bunk beds but i guess you cant have everything lol)

I am currently in a 26BH which does not have the slide. it's 26' long camper, but total just under 30' long with the tongue. I pull it with my 2014 Titan Pro-4X. Total weight of the camper full would be just at or under your max weight so it may be to large for you. I know if you get the 26BH with the slide it will be over your max weight. The 26BH has two double bunks at the rear with a 74" queen bed in the front. The couch is a jack-knife couch that folds into a bed (think futon) and the table also breaks down into another bed. My 5 yr old daughter loves the bunks and my 10month old son doesn't care yet...My wife and I really enjoy the floor plan and general layout of the camper.

An X23B will likely fit your needs. Have you looked at one?

What is your payload on that Jeep Grand Cherokee? That will be your limiting factor... Personally, I would not pull my 26BH with a Jeep Grand Cherokee!

The X254 sound like an option but they are discontinuing for 2017. I like the X23F myself, but we ordered the lighter version with the 17XFD.

We have the 254. It is quad bunks.

I didn't know they were discontinuing! Do you mean 2016 is the last year? Do you know if they will replace with another lightweight quad bunk?

I think lots of people miss it on their website because it's under the expandable tab. I think of it more as another trailer with a slide but just in a different place as their aren't and tent ends.

That is more than I thought it would be. I pulled my 26BH with a Tahoe which is only slightly higher payload than yours - it did ok, but my truck is much better. A friend of mine has a 2014 Grand Cherokee and it just seems so much smaller than my Tahoe was. That might open you up to more options than many would have thought of...

im worried about length, a truck has much longer wheelbase than my jeep does, power wise it prob has more than most 1500 trucks
