Looking to add an RV Tire Pressure Monitor System
Any recommendations, reviews, opinions?
Amazon lists many from $250 - $500.

I am completely happy with it. Since I bought mine 3 years ago they have come out with other models such as replaceable batteries and flow thru sensors.
My RV510 system has saved my bacon several times. I would not feel safe without it. I have 8 sensors. One on every tire.

I purchased the TST TPMS system last year for my HTT. 4 Sensors...all worked great, no drop out and I definitely felt more confident knowing I could see the tire temps/pressures.

I have the TST 507 system with 8 sensors as well. I love it, and it provides peace of mind and safety.
I did have a problem where the trailer sensors would eventually drop out on a long tow. I purchased the repeater to install on the front of the trailer, but i have not towed since getting the repeater. I really like that TST has the option to have a repeater.
Also remember that you want metal valve stems for mounting the sensors. A trip to Discount Tire and about $100 fixed this for me. I don't know if it was strictly required, but I paid a bit extra to rebalance the tires after installing the sensors.

I have the Tire Minder and have been pleased with it. User replaceable batteries, stem mount. It not only reports pressure but temperature as well. Flow-thru sensors would be a nice addition but I exist without it. I have short-ish rubber stems and have no problems.
It now comes with a signal repeater (booster) that I bought after the fact and it improves the signal hugely! I've made a couple of support calls to them and they've been very helpful. I think the same unit is available from other sources under a different brand (I think).

It may depend on the type of sensor and how often/far you drive the trailer, etc. In the case of the TST sensors, they are somewhat heavy because they include a theft prevention outer shell. You can take this shell off to shave weight, but I like the idea of making the sensors harder to steal. Someone actually tried pulling mine not noticing that my wife was observing from in my truck at the time. The sensors are about $50 a piece.
Imagine a weight at the end of the rubber valve stem over the course of a long, bouncy ride. That is not the kind of stress a rubber valve stem is designed for. I have seen plenty of posts from people that use the system with rubber valve stems, but I would not suggest it. In one post, I saw a black ring on the wheel from the sensor bouncing around and rubbing on the wheel. That does not inspire confidence in long-term reliability.

OK, TST seems to be a leading contender here; why did y'all choose this brand? Was it based on prior experience, knowledge, availability, price, prior recommendations, etc?

Customer service is excellent before and after the sale. The business is headquartered near Atlanta, Ga.

X2. Service, Support and warranty. Many online testimonials as to how willing they are to replace failed units or to send o-rings for free to customers no charge.

I agree with their customer service. It is excellent and they do send o-rings when needed and sent an extra wrench also at no charge.
My system was a year or so out of warranty when I was putting the sensors on my Designer for a trip the next day. One wheel location on the monitor would not show the sensor. I tried to reprogram (code it) and it wouldn't code. After a bit of time wringing my hands I decided to try to code it to the outside wheel position for that axle. It worked. For some reason that one wheel location in the monitor wouldn't work. I called TST and they mailed a new monitor to my host site park and it was there when I arrived a couple of days later. All they wanted was the old monitor back to see what happened to it. No problems since. This is the 507 system with non-flow through sensors. I will not travel without it.

Which version do you use: 5 year permanent battery or annual replaceable battery? Is one more durable than the other?

I also have the TST 507
Wrascal - I went with the annual replacement battery. Don't know if it's any more durable, but given the customer service reputation TST has I doubt there would be an issue if I had trouble with one of my sensors.
slabat - I think whether or not you put them on the TV is personal choice. I didn't because the truck already has a monitoring system. I used five of the six sensors the system came with on the TT and carry the sixth as a spare.

I went with the replaceable battery as well. I don't mind the maintenance, and I prefer to not have to purchase sensors again in a few years.
I put sensors on my TV as well. My truck did not have monitoring from the factory. Even if it did, I do like seeing actual pressure and temperature readings on each individual tire. The factory system on my wife's car only says that a tire is low ... Not which one or how low.
The TST system makes it easy to detach the trailer from the TV, so the system works for me for daily driving.

Another TST507 here. I have the flow thru sensors (very convenient) and I did have metal valve stems installed. The system has worked well. The truck has its own system so I did not buy sensors for the truck tires.
