Made a HUGE mistake today !!!

Wife and I looked at a 2016 White Hawk 27DSLR. Oh my gosh, the most beautiful travel trailer we have ever see. Sadly I am afraid it is heavier than my 2010 F-150 Supercrew can comfortably tow and it is 5 ft. longer than the new carport I had installed this winter. Still it has set the bar for perceived quality and finish of anything else we will look at. Congratulations to all on the Forum that own this fine rv, Dave

Very nice

What a beautiful rv. I notice you are towing with a half ton 5.3. My Ford has the 5.4 and although it is rated to tow quite a bit more than the White Hawk weighs, I think that it may be over rated by the factory. Enjoy your wonderful Jayco and thanks for replying to my thread.

I have a 2015 DSRL and love it. I tow it with my '91 Bronco which is a short F150 and it tows fine. I did change the stock gearing from the factory 3.55:1 to 4.56:1.

Without looking at the spec for a 27DSLR, I can say that I tow a 28DSBH just fine with my 2012 F150 EcoBoost.

It's always a good excuse to get a bigger truck! [emoji3]

Ford F150 8 Cyl

We just purchased the 2016 Jay Flight 27RLS last month, this unit is 6,900 lbs not loaded. We live in the WV Mountains and our 2015 F150 8 Cyl pulls it like a dream.

We also have a 2015 27DSRL and never have regretted the decision to buy it. We tow with a 2015 GMC Sierra with max towing pkg and it tows very well. We just got it out of mothballs and are planning this year's adventures. Enjoy! Oh, and thanks Stormpod for the blog.

Talking

Just got our 27DSRL last Friday. I agree, it's a great camper. Dealership left a lot to be desired on the instruction portion. Everything on the unit was good, so Jayco either did an awesome job building it or the dealership did a good job prepping it. Camped in the driveway over the weekend and will be taking it out for the maiden voyage next weekend.
