Mattresses on couch and dinette

Ok the couch folds down like a futon and the dinette turns into a bedding area but can anybody really sleep comfortably on them.
Does anyone have any recommendations for some sort of mattress overlay that can be used at night and stored during the day?
Thanks

An inflatable mattress might work but in order to store it you would have to deflate it every day.

Small children may not complain about it but the futon is way too short for me and too uncomfortable. I'm not sure about an overlay. There is a gap where the upper and lower halves meet and it's horribly uncomfortable to sleep on. A sleeping bag, blanket or foam padding stuffed in the gap may help and you can easily store those under the futon.

We bought a piece of foam that is for a king sized bed with 2 mattresses to make the middle less obvious. Its a big long but you can cut it to match the length. Its called a "Sleep Innovations Bed Bridge." It was $15 on Amazon.

We have a 2" gel memory foam topper, which makes a significant difference on either the jack knife sofa or the dinette bed.
