Last August there was a
discussion on the Carefree electric awning and how hard it is to clean.
I said at the time I would post photos of the process to make it a very simple job. This only works for awnings with the motor on the end of the arm.
Here goes: First take two ropes and tie them to the arms of the awning below the motor and then throw the lines over the trailer and tie to the stabilizers.
You can see in the next photo that there is very little room between the garage and the trailer.
This is also a good time to do any patches that are needed.

Next you would unroll the awning the other side of the roller and complete the awning cleaning.
Once restrained the awning can be extended. Be sure to watch to see that it is not bunching up but is extending the material over or under the roller. If it is over the roller then you can clean the top of the awning and if it is under the roller, between the roller and the trailer wall, you can clean the underside.
I like to do the underside first. No reason just my choice.
At this point you can wash half of the awning on the side you are working by pushing the material against the sidewall of the trailer. You can use as much force to clean as you desire but be careful of items sticking out from the trailer like the windows, doors, etc.
When you are done with this part then roll the awning up 1/2 way and you can complete the next 1/4 of the material. Continue doing this until the awning side is complete. Near the end I will fold the last amount over the roller and wash both sides before rinsing.
