Question Model Name signification

While discussing with a colleague at work, the meaning of the models name/identification came to surface.

Although some letter usage in model identification is obvious, some remain a mystery.

Is there a listing somewhere (either for Jayco or other companies) of was those letters mean??

Ours is 36 KPTS

Kitchen Pantry (Triple or Three) Slides

We do have a pantry and 3 slides. So I guess it makes sense. Although it is 39+ ft long.

from what I've seen anything with a X or a Z in the model number typically is some sort of hybrid TT/tent camper or has a partial slide (like in the rear).

White Hawk 28DSBH: 28 foot Deep Slide Bunk House. Which is strange because we have a similar setup to the 28BHBE as shown above.

I just found out the .5 in the model numbers indicates a Fifth Wheel model.

X213. X is for hybrid and the body of the trailer is 21 feet long not counting the hitch or the rear slide. Not sure about the 3.

Mine is 321 RLTS--rear lounge triple slide. The numbers are simply model numbers and have nothing to do with length of the unit.

Later models yes, earlier models probably not. My 2006 is a 23B, no X or Z in this model number. 23 is the length, B is ??

Yes. Our old Kiwi was an '03 and was a 17a model. No X and it was a hybrid. It had a 12 ft box and was 17 ft measured from end bumper to end of tongue.

Our current X20E actually has a 16 ft box and is 21 ft from bumper to tongue. It seems to me that the 20 is more of a class identifier than a reflection of actual length.

I suspect the E, and B or F in the case of the X23 is an internal floor plan/design indicator. Some designs didn't make the final production cut or were offered many years ago and and are no longer. So you don't see an X20A or X20B. Kind of like how GM has the Z28 indicator on special model Camaros. Z28 is actually an option package code but is also part of the model name of the car.

Our 26.5 HT RLS is a, supposedly, half-ton towable (HT) with rear living (RL) and a living room slide (S), maybe that's it, although we do have a small slide in the bedroom for our wardrobe. Also, from tip of fw hitch to the back of the bumper its just short of 30' but the living area is pretty close to 26.5' so maybe thats the 26.5 in the designation.

The DS designation can be Deep Slide rather than Dual Slide. Our 27DSRL is 27ft long as far as living length although actually almost 31' rear bumper to hitch ball. The letters are Deep Slide (there is only one) Rear Living.

Im not sure that holds up. We have a 31.5 RLTS which is a fifth wheel. But there is no .5 in a 321 RLTS which is also a 5th wheel!!

There are no std naming customs. They change like diapers. The camper I have was called a Designer, then. Eagle then something else. Mostly marketing hype.
