New camp dog coming

We are getting a new puppy very soon, she is a female and we are having trouble coming up with a name. She will be retreiver trained so 2 syablle names work best. I like Lacey, but a friend had a dog named that, but she passed like 20+ years ago. So here is some we are thinking, throw me some ideas please. There are already lots of Bailey's and bella's out there.
Lacey
Montana (Tanna for short)
Roxy (wife says it sounds like a stripper)

Annie or Molly! Before you decide though, yell the name out your door several times & hear how it sounds coming off your tongue.

Hey! We are getting a new puppy soon as well! (Oct 27) She is a lab (our 2nd - our first in my profile pic was the best dog ever to grace the planet - we lost her in May at age 13). She's from british field lab stock on both sides and the breeder specializes in gun dogs, but my husband isn't a hunter so she won't be used for retrieving in that sense. Probably just retrieving dummies in our pond for fun. Anyhow, I digress.

We had trouble coming up with a name too, and also needed two syllables. Some of the names we were throwing around were Olive (as in black olive, in case we went with a black lab), Ivy, Gypsy (like the Stevie Nicks song), Darby (Darby O'Gill) and Darcy (as in, Mr.). Yes, these were all for a female, ha ha. I'd like to say Arwen and Eowyn were in the running, but I got shut down hard on those. The name we decided on is Finley, or Finn for short. It means "Fair Hero" or "Fair Warrior" (Irish). She'll be a yellow lab, so it works.

Good luck with your decision!!

We lost our 12 year old dog this year ( Keisha ) she was a shepherd cross and it was a big blow to the family. She did however get to enjoy our new trailer for a few trips before she passed away unexpectedly. We missed her sooooo much we needed a four footed friend to help fill our empty hearts, so a little while later we got a new puppy. Another shepherd cross huskey ( Hanna ) is now 4 1/2 months and has been on three camping trips thus far. She has been a great addition to the family and has reminded us how much work a puppy can be. My boys wanted to call her Gene Simmons..... lol... like that was going to happen... but we caved in a bit and now her middle name is Gene. Hanna Gene.... not to shaby for a new camping dog. She only hears both names when she is being bad though... lol....

a couple names you may like... Bonnie, Misty, Cloe, and one I really like is "Lexi "

Anyhow good luck with naming your new puppy and let us know what name you choose.

Definitely try using a name or two with the puppy to see what she responds to. I myself like one syllable names. I do competition obedience and agility and have found that most dogs will hear a hard syllable better than multiple syllables. Some of my dogs have been named, Zigs,Imp, Reese, Burke, Belle, Sprite.
