I dont believe a ladder can be added after the factory, it requires some sort of backing in the walls to mount to.

I know from my old Jayco 2006 model that may models share the same framing and therefore have the backing just not used. I had my dealer add
a second roof vent that was framed in but not used. I had the Jayco give me a drawing of the roof trusses.

You can contact Jayco and ask if one could be added and where.

I'd think all the wall sections are made the same. If the particular trailer model has a ladder for an option, then I'd think it would still have the backer inside the wall even if a ladder was not installed at the factory. Other wise the production line would have to in effect make 2 different walls for the same model floorplan. It's far easier to build the same wall whether you're going to hang a ladder on it or not. For that reason, if a ladder was originally available as a standard or option, I'd suspect a wall schematic will show where the reinforcing backers are installed for an 'after the thought' ladder.

I too have read in this and other forums that if it wasn't ordered with a ladder that one could not be added later due to bracing in the walls and roof. You can contact Jayco with your VIN and they could tell you.

You may not really have a " walk on roof ", hence no ladder. Get your vin # and contact Jayco to be sure about the roof and if supports are in the rear wall for the ladder.
My old TT didn't have one either, and I was able to add one, but could hear the roof under foot. Had to use planks to distribute weight when I was on the roof

you can still walk on the roof, the only thing is that the box on the dealer order form for the ladder was not ticked off, you still have to be able to walk on the roof for maintenance and repairs to the roof or anything on it

I ordered my White Hawk with a ladder. Factory didn't put it on. They put one inside another trailer sent to my dealer, who installed it. My ladder has 4 pairs of mounts. One on the top, which attaches to the roof. One at the very bottom of the ladder. The other two are adjustable up and down the ladder; one is mounted just above the window and the other just below. The window in the back is quite large and extends partially under the ladder. I think the middle two mount to the top and bottom framing for the window. I would think a ladder would go on your trailer in much the same way.

I noticed that the 2015 HT 29.5bhds has the roof ladder option. It wasn't an option on our 2014. Not sure if its an option now on the other HT models or not.

I believe that Jayco will tell you that if a ladder was not factory installed, you should not add one, OR walk directly on the roof either. They add reinforcements under the roof so that all your weight in two places (your feet) will not bow the roof. Without the reinforcements that come with a factory ladder, you must spread your weight, either by putting down plywood to walk on, or resort to crawling so that your weight is spread out.

The roof construction is the same, ladder or no ladder. The blocking is probably already there they just don't include the ladder in the price.
