Smile New Owner

My husband and I are new to RVing. We bought a used 2001 kiwi hybrid and were not given a good lesson. How do I fill the hot water tank while using city water and how do I fill it if I am using the fresh tank. Do I have to have the hot water faucet on and what valves on the tank do I open and close? The manual shows nothing. The heater lights right up. We are hunting this weekend so any help will be greatly appreciated!! If anyone wants to reply to our cell feel free. 912-242-2044

All I do is open the sink faucets and purge the air from the tank and water lines (cold and hot side). The hot side will take longer since you've got more air in the heater tank. With the water pump, it'll shut off automatically when the valves are all clear of air and the faucets are closed. Using city pressure, there isn't anything else to do.

As far as the valves are concerned, make sure they're both turned the same way and verify that the tank has water in it after purging the air by opening the pressure relief valve on the outside. If no water or pressure, turn both valves and try again. You'll probably hear the water filling the tank and have to purge it again. Then verify water's in the tank again. Once you've got water, fire up the heater and you're in business. Never run the water heater without water in the tank. It'll ruin the water heater.

Good luck! Welcome to the group!
