New rig-5er or TT?

Well, our 1992 Eagle 300BH (...stop laughing) has served us well. It was our first trailer and we've only had it for 3.5 years. My wife and I both have the bug for a more spacious, modern unit. I recently bought a 97 F350 dually for my TV. Not as high a GVWR as modern trucks, but high enough (10,000) to handle anything I've looked at.

so the question: Travel Trailer (cheaper) for fifth wheel. There are certainly TT that meet our needs, but I sure do like the fifth wheels. I've heard they are much easier/more stable to tow/ Our usual outings are GA-SC, or GA-FL where it's fairly flat. But-with a new rig, we would probably pull up to northern Indiana to visit our daughter. With that in mind..TT or 5er? or does it really matter?

I was a TT owner for 20 years before I had to get a 5er due to the new child. I now tell everyone I will not go back to a TT. Yes the 5er will tow much better and less prone to crosswind issues and I absolutely love the basement storage area. I have seen some newer models of TT the have the rear bedroom elevated which gives the TT a nice small basement . But about all find the RV that has the features and floorplan that fits your family best.

The only thing that really matters is what do you like? If you get something you don't like you wont use it... I prefer a TT .. I have a large cap on the truck box that acts like an air foil and it gives me secure storage. The TT also means I have no stairs inside...
