"No lightswitch in 28BHS".. Problem is solved!.. Photos

Here is the solution that we came up with to install a light switch in our master bedroom without cutting open the walls to rewire. I am really happy with the results.. and thanks for all the suggestions.. they helped me figure this out.

My blog post is called "What ...no light switch?" May 13 2012

Very nice! You should have your own how-to show on TV!

Looks good! I use that outlet for our recently installed bedroom TV. Have yet to use it though.

Great ingenuity. My mind will definitely store that idea away for a future fix to some electrical problem.

Lee I was thinking that this same set up would work quite well for a "wall hung" type lamp that plugs into a lower socket... the "receiver" unit is actually designed for table lamps etc..

I've seen wireless switches to control foglights on cars too. It keeps you from having to run a wire through the firewall of the car. One of those could be adapted to be able to turn the original ceiling light on and off. I believe Wal-Mart usually carries a version of this.
