I fire up the stove for about a minute, maybe a bit more. The fridge usually fires on propane after no more than 3 tries, maybe 4... Never thought to run the furnace, but this is Texas, I could go to jail for that...

Our fridge is also a pain to light after it's sat awhile. I may try the furnace trick since our furnace is under our fridge.

When I'm leaving the CG and switch it from auto or electric back to propane, it typically starts on the first try.
Do you fire up a stove burner 1st? To purge the propane through the lines. If you just turn on the tank and try to start the fridge, I can see what you are experiencing happening
