Only Four 2017 Eagle TT's

The 2017 Eagle TT line-up has only four (4) floorplan offerings, compared to nine (9) in 2016.

I was leaning toward the Eagle 318RETS floorplan as my next Eagle......, favored it over the 338RETS floorplan. Well, Jayco dropped the 318RETS and the four remaining 2017 Eagle TT's are pushing 40ft long.

Hopefully Jayco will revise the Eagle TT line-up again once I'm ready to pull the trigger on a new TT.

Bob

I was wondering about this as well. Do they add new models as the year progresses?

Also, I find it odd that "2017" models are out in the first half of 2016, and they appear to have already phased out 2016 models?

I guess I'm glad I got my trailer when I did because it looks like I couldn't even go buy the same thing new today, although I admit to wondering if it would have made more sense to just get a jay flight with all the upgrades.

According to a Jayco rep I spoke with, Jayco will be splitting the TT line in to separate "categories" like they do with the 5th wheels. There will be the Eagle line, which consists of the 4 you spoke of and all the other smaller ones will be categorized as Eagle HT TT's going forward.

Yes, we noticed that also!
And have you seen any of the new Eagles? The interior hardware, light fixtures, medicine cabinet & the stone around the fireplaces are terrible looking this year. Fake, nothing warm & inviting about any of it!

As mentioned, I've also noticed over years since I purchased my 2005 Eagle (my 2nd Eagle) that materials have changed..., pros and cons in doing so. IMO the older Eagles seem to have a more solid look/feel to them then the newer Eagles......, but that's just me.

Some folks may not beware of this, but a few years ago there was an Eagle Lite line-up and an Eagle line-up. The Eagle Lite name plate was eventually dropped, but (IMO) Jayco then placed the Eagle name plate on the Eagle Lite product line.

IMO Jayco blended the Eagle Lite and the Eagle product lines, but the end result was that the Eagle lie-up favored the prior Eagle Lite material build.

Oh well............, from a construction stand point Northwood's Arctic Fox Silver Edition still remains on my short list, they just need a couple more floorplan choices.

Yes, they do like to keep us guessing. My Eagle is a different price point than the newer ones. Then there is the Designer which was top O the line, then went away when the Pinnacle came out. Now it's back as top of the line again.

Until next year?

Interesting line-up, 3 of the 4 models offered are bunk units, and if "HT" is referring to "half ton towable", well....., IMO very few "properly" configured 1/2 tons can tow them under loaded conditions.

With "published" UVW's north of 8,000lbs and GVWR's of 10,950lbs, realistic loaded tongue weights will be in the 1,200b to 1,400lb range.

[sarcasm] But (insert appropriate entity here - aka: officer, insurance adjuster, tow truck driver, etc.) What are you talking about? The salesman told me I could easily tow this heavy of a trailer with my half ton pickup and besides, the HT stands for half ton so I don't understand where the problem is? [/sarcasm]

One has to wonder if the influence of the Thor buy-out had something to do with the limited number of floor plans. These things do not happen overnight. I agree with the HT analysis...... I bought my 3/4 with an Eagle TT in mind but I'm now looking hard at the White Hawk line. I can't justify the cost difference in my mind, because I can't see that much difference in quality.
