Ordering A New Jayco Camper
Does anyone know how long it takes from the time a new camper is ordered, to the time it is actually built and delivered? We have just ordered one and are curious and maybe a bit nervous. I know that they do them in runs but am wondering how long it takes.
2014 Jayco White Hawk REKS on ordered
Thanks

We ordered ours at the end of November, 2012 and took possession around the middle of February, 2013.

No, to answer you question, but: Jayco had a regional rep in our area (don't remember his name or title) that could tell you when a specific Jayco PUP, TT, or MH would be built. I think the dealers can access the info you're looking for through the regional reps. My guess is that your TT has already been assigned a slot in the next scheduled run of that model. And if you make the right contact at Jayco they will tell you when that is. I would want to watch mine being built.
We ended not ordering because we went with a different model off the lot, but our regional rep could tell us when it would have been built. I don't know about delivery times.
Edit: It was about the same time frame as djalbrec's.

Both my units took about 8 weeks from the order date until it was ready to ship. From then it's another few weeks with movement and prep by the dealer. Figure a solid 2 months with seasonality swings in demand.
Your dealer should have a date within 2 weeks of the order that will be the "offline" date. This can change +- 7 days.
Good luck and enjoy the new unit.

Ours was 6 weeks from order to delivery. I am told that we just got lucky. We were told 6 to 10 weeks and that guesstimate was never modified

We have ordered 3 new units from online dealers. Two of them took right at 6 weeks from the date we ordered until they were ready to pick up. Our last one, 2014 375BHFS took a little less than a month.

We ordered our 2013 197 July 25th 2012 and accepted delivery of it August 23rd. We live approx 45 minutes from the factory and our dealer was making a trip to Middlebury the first week of August. He invited me to meet him there and I had the opportunity to see our TT on the assembly line. It took 3 days to complete. By the time it was transferred to the dealer and our scheduling to pick it up... Just under a month.

About six weeks for ours, which is just what the salesman told us.

We ordered the first week of April 2013. It was delivered in just under six weeks. This time frame included the switch from 2013 to 2014 White Hawk models. There were some major changes between the 2013 and 2014 models. I wouldn't be concerned.

Was told 6 weeks and it may have been 7 weeks, but a lot will depend on timing and the season. The timeframe will get longer when all the dealers are ordering their inventory of new models. We ordered online and picked the WH up at the dealer just 2 miles from the jayco factory.

I'm curious as to which month would be the best month to get a trailer? I would bet the middle of winter would be best as it should be the slowest time of year.
I try to buy hunting guns and equipment in the late spring, you can get some really good deals on end of season closeouts.

Depending on where you live it really might not matter.
Like cars, your best deal will come from dealer stock that has been sitting on the lot for a while. In serveral areas of the country you can RV year round so its not like there is an off season everywhere.
Reading this and other forums there are a lot of RVs being purchased/ordered right now, and seems so just about every year right now this happens. One would think late fall/early winter would be the best, but the RV industry is smart and this is when they host the RV shows and getting people excited to change RVs.
FYI -- the model year will quietly change in late Q1 early Q2. If a dealer is sitting on a bunch of MY '14 about this time, and you don't mind getting a '14 vs '15, often dealers will want the previous year off the lot before the new ones start to hit. Jayco doens't help the buyer with understanding the MY changes since they ofter don't update the website with latest information till Aug/Sept.

Call Judy down at the plant and ask her when is your Model scheduled to be run. Their build schedule is months in advance. We just traded in a Jayco on a 2014 Cougar HC 321RES and it only took two weeks because they already had a schedule and they just added ours to it.
Good luck & happy trails,
