Outside Shower Door Broke Under Warranty

The door to our outdoor shower broke at the hinge. I guess the little plastic rod that the door swivels on is what snapped off. The TT is less then a year old.

Our dealer said this was not covered under warranty. They said he door wasn't an easy fix and that the whole outdoor shower assembly has to be replaced. I guess I can see that, but I can't see why it wouldn't be covered under warranty. Does that make sense?

Doesn't surprise me that warranty was denied. They denied my warranty on bad factory wiring. All that said, I don't think Jayco is any better or worse than the other present manufacturers. Most RV manufacturers have bad warranty policy. My Fleetwood Pace Arrow MH back in 89 was the only RV I have erver owned which had a warranty worth anything. Fleetwood gave me a plastic card that I could take to any RV dealer for warranty repair. It was absolutely awesome. This is why I really grind the dealers for a great price. I figure once I am out the door and he has my money I'm no longer his best buddy until I'm ready to trade upwards.

Can't see why that would not be under the 2-year Jayco warranty, unless they could prove owner misuse, which would be very difficult. Looks to me like the dealer just doesn't want to bother. As stated above, I would call Jayco direct and let them tell you why is isn't warrantied, if that is truly the case.

The fact that someone is telling you that the door is not covered under warranty and the trailer is only a year old sounds bogus to me. My outdoor shower assembly was leaking and it was replaced without hesitation at no charge to me. So what would be the difference in this case? As suggested, call Jayco directly and let them know what's happened.

My outside shower door fell off and the dealer fixed it under warranty. Sounds like your dealer is the problem and not Jayco.

What I have found helpful is taking the matter up with Jayco directly first. Send an e-mail of your issue and ask to send in pictures within your request. Jayco should reply with where to send the photos. Once you send them in you should receive a response with an claim number possibly to get the work done. Mentioning the dealer where the work will be completed does help with this process. Then call your dealer, provide the claim number and have them call you when the part is in to complete the work. I have done this twice with Jayco and it has saved me down time and headaches as a result. The dealers actually have it easier by doing this and appreciate the leg work.

Your door should be covered.

Like the others I am surprised that your dealer said it would not be covered. I would find a new dealer.
