paint code

We just bought a used 2013 Jayco Eagle Premiere and would like to Paint part of our white truck to mach the 5th wheel, But the factory said no codes. But someone somewhere had to make a decision on a color even if its just a name. I mean they didn't just through a paint against the wall and said paint it that color. I've been to the paint shop and they could not get an accurate reading on the paint. Somebody in Jayco must know where they got the color idea.

Any good automotive body shop can chip it for you. Might not be exact, but it'll be **** close.

I may be incorrect here, but are these trailers truly painted?

I thought that the exterior finish was tinted anodized. An electrochemical process done by the supplier of the aluminum used to build the walls.

If that's the case, Jayco won't have a clue and no coating on steel will ever match it perfectly.

If you want the truck and trailer to match perfectly, you'll have to pay to have BOTH vehicles painted from the same batch of mixed paint.

There won't be a paint code since it has FILON sides and decals. There was not a full body paint option for the EAGLE PREMIERE. Obviously there is a color name for the FILON, but that won't do you any good for paint colors since there is no correlation. Same for the vinyl decals.

Hey, even WITH paint codes, you can't get a bed-lid to match a truck! That said, over the week-end I saw a fantastic bronze/gold 5-er with a matching TV and asked the owner ... he said his auto paint-shop did the match and it was so close that only he could see the variation. Bet you'll do just fine.

What color paint does Jayco have the shop use when it has a front cap repainted? I would think they would have a paint code to give the repair shop.
