Painting your RV

Has anyone ever d their RV painted? The Southwest sun does a job on the exterior of Harvey the RV, and we were wondering if there are RV painting services out there?

Anyone done this? Is it worth the cost? What is the cost?

I know that for the MH I had prior to the current RV I was able to get paint done through a local truck service facility that did bodywork as well. They have bays large enough to fit larger vehicles and bake the paint if you want. After finding out the cost I went cheap and did a full vehicle vinyl wrap. It was suggested to me by the body shop, and came in fairly cheap since it didn't require the same degree of prep work to do. My need for repaint was from more than a few branch scratches over the years, not just a fade from the sun. That may impact the cost I was looking at and change which would be cheaper.

Do you mind me asking how much was the wrap vs paint?

I know that my ofc is paying $4k for a wrap on a 28BHBE size trailer. I believe that trailer is about 32' long...give or take.

The wrap prices varied greatly when I was looking. Lowest price I got was $2,500 CAD all in. Price was based on the vinyl not needing to be printed. Printing means you can't stretch the vinyl, and you have to line it up perfectly. A straight solid colour wrap can have some overlap at the seams, and won't look odd if any parts are stretched during installation. Those two points reduce the labour for the installation greatly. Between the savings in printing and saving the time for installation it came out almost $1,000 cheaper than the cost for the best quote to fix and paint the RV.
