Parking and leveling

Recently purchased this 2015 331RKTS 5th wheel. Just ran into this problem.Checked into a campground and found the sites with a slight slope, front to back. When I tried to auto level, I found that the front was still a ways off from the back so I hit "panic mode" and stopped, not wishing to try to raise the trailer of the ground. I'm still getting used to the six point leveling system so just stopped, using the back jacks to just touch the pad. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Boards under the tires and/or blocks under the leveling legs.

I used the blocks under the rear to no avail. The jacks are not designed to pick up the trailer correct ? That's what it seams like it wants to do.

Mine picks it up with no issues. I am sure it is not preferred to be in a situation where the tires are off the ground. If you put some boards under your tires it will put the FW into a more level position on the site and then just put leveling blocks under the legs.

Yeah, we just bought it new and I don't want to jeopardize the warranty. Just new at this six point leveling thing. Thanks.

I understand completely that the last thing you want to do is to damage your investment. One thing I would like to mention that I have learned over our past few trips. When you chock your tires, whether on a flat site or an un-level site, the tires will have weight/pressure taken off of them and will "raise" ever so slightly. This may not take them off of the ground all of time but it can take the tires off of the chocks or loosen them. Just remember to make sure they are still secure. I have started putting a set of plastic wheel chocks on the tires prior and installing my x-chocks after the auto-level is done. Make sure you take the x-chocks out before you lower/ re-hitch.

So... "auto level" is a thing now on trailers? All of em or above a certain size?

It is offered on a few different models. My North Point FW it was a "mandatory" option. I have been very pleased with it so far and it does take the "work" out of leveling. I can't say that I would add it on if I had a choice. Seems like it would be a pretty expensive addition for what it is. I spent many years hand cranking/ using a cordless drill and I have no issues with that.

My experience has always been fold down jacks with 2x lumber pieces and rocks.... Sometimes digging a hole if one corner was too low to swing the jack down.
