Thumbs down Peeew, it STINKS!

We are running the generator because we need new power cords due to a fire. Never in the past have we smelled gasoline fumes! But for some reason the exhaust is going into our garage (gennie is stored in the front bin underneath, gasoline in the next bin over, next to it, garage behind gennie area) then coming into our RV via the hall stairs, and therefore the carbon monoxide alarm is beeping endlessly. It is snowy here the air is stagnate but I still don't see that as a reason for the exhaust from the generator to be blowing into the RV??? Coughing, burning eyes.... If its not one thing its another! Suggestions pretty please!

Our set up is like this one:

Sounds like the wind is blowing the wrong direction? Maybe position a vehicle to deflect the wind?

We are going to redirect the 5th wheel, ugh... Thinking of turning it around completly this way it will be closer to the power outlet also, alleviating the need to use two power cables instead of one.

Thanks!

I would be making a trip to buy new cords and just get a cord cap (plug) for the burned end. Cut the burned plug off, strip the wires and put the new one on. Plug in the extension and you are done. Way cheaper and safer than running the genny.

I use a Genturi all the time for my safety as well as who might be next to me when I'm camped at a race or other tight quarters.
