People that use covers for winter

I'm curious to see if anyone had any negative affects inside their trailer using a cover for the winter. Someone we know that camped for years with older style trailer bought a new one 2014 and put a cover on it last year and when they took it off in the spring they found mold in their bathroom, and even after cleaning out really good they said it still kinda has that smell in there. My dealer told us that the way trailers are built now a day's you really don't need a cover because they are built a lot better(Ex, curved roofs so water doesn't puddle, smooth fiberglass sides).Im in NJ and winters are hit or miss.Id like to buy a cover but I don't wanna any issues.Currently I winterized and opened all doors and cabinets and cracked my vent about 2" for air flow and have my maxx air to protect from elements.Just curious on if anyone else had issues

Nope no issues with my Atwood cover on my TT. Using it for the third season, I also use DriZAir in my trailer for moisture control inside.

You have to use a cover made specifically for RVs. If you use the typical inexpensive blue tarps, you will have all kinds of problems.

We have an Adco cover on our trailer. No issues at all with mold. We also put in a dehumidifier and that takes out lots of moisture, over the course of winter I would guess about two gallons of water is collected. The nice thing is if the trailer is washed and clean it is clean in the spring to start out with.

thanks for replies. The only thing I can think is that they didn't buy a breathable cover,as for the mold they must have had a water issue they didn't know about since it was only in the bathroom.
Derek700 I thought about same idea running a dehumidifier,i just get leary about leaving stuff running in my trailer since I don't keep it at my moms and cant check on it as much as I would like. For now I have no cover but it's waxed extremely good and vent is cracked to get airflow.
