Picked up TT- 2017 Jayco Jay Flight SLX 264BHW

We just brought home our new TT. I'm already stressed. I hope it gets better. My husband didn't level it and just put down the stablizing jacks. Please say a prayer for me because I really need a few right now. I hope there isn't any real damage.

I'm not sure what the worry is.
Are you running the Fridge? Then, yes, it should be level.
If not and you are not trying to sleep in it, what difference does it make if it isn't level and the stabilizer jacks are down? It won't be level, but how will that damage anything?

Nice travel trailer, by the way.
Relax and enjoy your new trailer. There are far better things to worry about.

The stress will wear off when you both get more comfortable. The unit is designed to be supported by the stabilizer jacks level or not. Ideally you want at least a little wood underneath them. Not a necessity though. Believe me our first trip was an experience. I took out our campsite number marker that was on a metal post when I pulled out. We laugh about it now and so will you. Have a glass of wine and research as much as you can.

Congrats on picking up the new rig!!!

As mentioned, if your not running the fridge don't worry about being level. Just make sure you chock the wheels before unhooking the tv so the tt doesn't decide to roll away, which is possible even if the stabilizer jacks are down.

Enjoy!!!

Thank you so much. We are newbie and I guess it is like being new parents. Once we get used to it then we will be experts with the second one. We made it the first 24 hrs. Yea! Got it leveled today! And I just had a glass of wine. Now we are going on our first trip over the Columbus Day weekend. Continue to pray for us. And hopefully we won't take out something while we are there. I will be drinking lots of wine and researching. Thanks.

Relax...

In order to damage your fridge you would have to be WAY out of level...

There is no requirement to level the rig, it's just something most of us like to do to keep things from rolling off the counter. The stabilizers don't care whether the rig is level or not. They just support the weight.

The very best thing you can do is spend time in your unit, sleep in it in the driveway. Don't wait until your first trip to learn how to plug it in, how to hook up water, how to turn on the water pump and heater and AC.

But certainly dont be afraid of it.

As you go develop a checklist and do the same things each time. Pretty soon you'll be comfortable and having fun.

Were all here to help. Ask questions if you need. If there is something you don't understand it's better to ask. Pictures are always helpful as everyone describes certain things with different names and we all have different rigs with common systems but not always in the exact same location.

It's a very nice looking trailer and will serve you well.

Congratulations on your new trailer. As mentioned before, leveling is not necessary for storing the trailer. There will also be times when you can't get the trailer perfectly level. Don't stress it, close as possible is good enough. Practice doing your set up, hook ups, take downs, etc., (dry runs in the driveway,), and familiarize yourself with your trailer. Read your manuals. You will be surprised at how quickly the routine will become second nature to you. Mainly, be not afraid of the trailer, or to ask any questions of the forum members.

I know how it is, the wife and I want to go back out again ourselves so we can find all we can within the 90 days so we can let them fix what's wrong.

Glass of wine was a great idea! If you get stuck whilst out, you can ask your camping neighbors for help too! Most of our fiddly systems and electronics are fairly common, even between manufacturers. I have already learned a few things from my camping buddies and don't plan on stopping learning any time soon...
