Poker/ Dutch oven lid remover

I made these poker/dutch oven lid removers for my daughter and SIL and the other for my wife
we had a wood poker from the first camping trip we ever made took together 4 yrs ago but she finally burned it up (she loves to poke the fire alot)
so i made this
good idea???

Good work, Robert. I especially like the turns on the handles--do you have a wood lathe or did you filch the handles off something else?

Now you should make some weiner/marshmallow roasters using the same turned handles--but maybe 8-10 inches long with sharpened wire roasters. I use closet clothes dowels (without the turns) and heavy duty wire for my roasters. The large dowels make turning the weiners/marshmallows easy and enable me to stay sufficiently far from the coals to avoid getting hot, myself.

yea i have a lathe and turned those handles
i love woodworking as much as camping
its a good idea to make some weinie / marshmellow handles too so ill have to look into that
