I replaced the original tongue jack with an Atwood (Made in the USA). The original had a rubber plug on the top (for manual cranking if battery died) and it was probably defective and filled the top assembly with water. Needless to say the electronics did not like it. When I called Camping World (only place close) they had the Atwood and said that they had people replacing the ones with the rubber plug on top for the same reason. It may have been a defect with the plug, because I never pulled it out.

I bought a Barker 3500 due to great reviews and its made in the USA. It comes with a 2 year warranty and if you ever needs parts its made in Michigan, try getting parts or talking to someone for a made in China jack. I found the best price on Amazon and etrailer was just a bit more.

I wasn't aware of its country of origin. My dealer bought a good supply so was able to get a good price on them. I think i'll keep my manual override handle handy just in case. Wish me luck Crabman

A few brands are still made here and some overseas. But whatever you have I do wish you luck!

So, how do I choose the drop? Do I need a Robofoot or drop leg?

I have had a ATWOOD for 14 years, ( installed on two Jayco's) and not one single problem, I am going to replace it, just because of its age, of course I will buy Another Atwood made in the USA.

I had a Lippert 4500# on my 27DSRL which died after one season. I purchased a Stromberg Carlson JET 3755 3500# off of eBay for $109.00 brand new in the box and it worked great all season.
