Pre-approval for warranty work....

I was at the dealership, where I bought my Eagle, today to get some warranty work scheduled. One problem is my main slide out doesn't seal properly and needs to be adjusted. The service manager, who is also one of the owners, said that they don't get out of adjustment and he would have to get approval from Jayco before he could look at it. I kind of guessed by his body language and attitude that he just doesn't want to be bothered with it. The other item I wanted taken care of is some fading and cracked gel coat on my front cap. That I can see needing Jayco approval for.

Is this pre-approval from Jayco something new with warranty claims?

I believe pre-approval is required when under warranty when there is a "cost" to the dealership. This week we took in our TT to the Jayco dealership for some warranty work (we're at the 1-year mark); everything was fixed at N/C (no charge) EXCEPT it turns out the heat exchanger was cracked so the Warranty Manager must [1] submit to Jayco for pre-approval and then [2] order the part. THEN we can schedule for the repair, again at N/C.

I recently found a issue with the front cap of my Pinnacle it had cracks in the gelcoat . I took several pictures along with an letter explaining everything. Emailed it to Jayco support and within two days received a email saying it was covers and to find a Jayco dealer of choice to do the repairs . They have been excellent to deal with . If your dealer will not step up contact Jayco

I had issues with my heater,it was back at dealer 3 times, when I asked why not just replace the entire unit since they pretty much almost did with parts they said it was easier to throw parts at it before they can put in for approval to replace entire heater, waste of my time and money but heater works now

Same here with 2015 JayFlight TT. Schwintek slide is having problems. Got to get approval and then order new trak and rollers for it.

Same here I have had to deal direct with jayco to get approval and they are great about it. My dealer on the other hand is terrible I do all the work as in trouble shooting and get the approval and they still cant seem to get things done in a timely manner. Jayco has been great though.

Regarding the hot water heater replacement: once the paperwork was approved and our schedules coordinated, yesterday we dropped-off the TT at the dealer by 8:15am and picked it up at 2:00pm (we live about an hour away). Tested that it worked as it should and drove way; no additional paperwork needed! Very pleased.
