Quality after two years poll

How would you rate the overall quality of your RV after at least the FIRST TWO YEARS since you took delivery. One through ten, one being terrible ten being outstanding. This poll is for those that purchased new, not used.

We need everyone that is relevant to vote in these quality polls so we can use the info as a reference point. Many times only problems are reported on forums so these polls will show just how good or bad the experience has been for all members. Please Vote.

This poll is just that, a poll on quality after at least two years of ownership. Report specific problems in the Jayco Problems and Issues forum. Civil discussion is welcome BUT rants, vents, and brand bashing will not be tolerated in this thread.

I will rate my TT a 9. Wont be two years till spring but ao far so good. Yes I have had a few problems along the way but I expect problems on a "house" that bounces up and down the road all summer long.

My two year vote is for a 2005 Jayco Escapade. Had a couple of real problems with it so I had to give it middle of the road rating.

Took delivery nearly 6 years ago on October 16 2009. Only a few minor issues thus far, never been back to a dealer.

Nothing major either before or after the 2 year mark. Starting to come across a screw here and there now that have backed out over time. The windows don't slide a well as the once did, aluminum tracks are getting worn. But all in all I am very happy with my JayFlight and expect to make some repairs.

In fact, I have been traveling so much for work recently I didn't DIY my annual PM inspections and re-caulking. I had a local RV service only shop do it, and they commented how impressed they were with the overall condition.

I will give my TT an 8. This is the same 8 I would have given it when it was new. This also considers I have given the other brands at a similar price point lower scores after walk through a. The quality is in line with my expectations of a $25k house on wheels. My repairs have only been warranty so far. I am pleased.

A strong "9". Bought mine new in 2008...never been in the shop for anything since then. Anything that may have rattled loose, got out of adjustment, etc. was easily repaired with a screwdriver or an adjustable wrench. I have considered trading it for a newer one the past 2 years but just cannot let this one go.

I rated ours a 6 because after the first two years life with it has been average.

I rated my Designer a 9 because nothing is perfect, but this one was close. Yes, I have had issues in the past 5 years of full time use, but each item was an item purchased for install by Jayco, not really Jayco's fault. Failures in the past 5 years:

One wheel hub/brake assembly. It was missing the adjuster mechanism and never worked. Dexter

Refrigerator failed. Norcold

Automatic transfer switch (2 failures). First one was IOTA (later recalled by manufacturer, but after mine failed. IOTA no longer makes them). Second one was Progressive Dynamics.

Fresh water pump failed. Shurflo.

I have had a few loose nuts/bolts as others have reported, but nothing that drops my rating even close to lower than a 9. I am very happy with Jayco. All items above were covered by warranty with zero hesitation by Jayco.

2.5 years into owning mine and was only back once for some quick warranty work and other than that it has been great.

Send me a reminder in 2017. At the 5 months mark it is still holding together very nicely.

I would rate our 2013 RLTS an eight. Only problems were front cap fading (repainted) and two blown tires on last 2500 mile trip. Installed lt truck tires and am looking for better results.

We just hit the 2 year mark and no issues I did not expect. Replaced the tires before the first trip and added wetbolts to the suspension at the same time. I replaced the analog thermostat with digital last month. That's about it.

10. Now at four and a half years, and having "extended stayed" in it for a total of about a year and a half, still a 10. Just replaced the converter, only semi-major problem I've encountered that wasn't my own doing. But now I remember to pull up the steps before driving into the barn!

Rated mine 9, same as when new on the other poll. The only issues I had so far were fixed under warranty. Turns out my OEM tires were garbage, but I knew that and have been hoping they would be the exception and last 3-4 years. They won't, so I'm in the "rule" as opposed to the exception and will replace them with over-spec'd tires as soon as I find the deal I want.

Now that the 2-yr warranty is out, I'm a little nervous. I'm afraid something major will fail and I'll be stuck with it. But overall, I'm satisfied with it. I've never run into anything on any of my other large assets that I couldn't fix, so I'll take the same attitude with the trailer. If something major happens, I'll diagnose it, see if I can or need to fix it, and go from there. I'm handy and have a fairly extensive tool collection, so I can get past most things...

Good idea on the wetbolts! I just added that to the list of "to dos" when I replace my tires! Thanks! Guess I'll go ahead and repack the bearings while I'm at it...

Well,, just completed my second year of ownership so my warranty is now out. Had major problems at first but they have all been worked out. No problems lately and I would rate this unit a 9+. Still looks great inside and out and everything is working!
